What do you do for cardio?

I consider my body type to be an ectomorph, I find if I run too often my performance in the gym suffers and I lose muscle gains.
I was told I should try doing a brisk walk on the treadmill for 30-40mins at 5mph and 15% incline.
My HR was approx 135-140 bpm.


I'm going to keep doing this and post my conclusion.

Does a higher HR/bpm actually burn muscle?
What are your thoughts? Is this cardio enough?
 
I hate running (long distance running). I get bored. So I tried sprinting. Actually started to gain a little in my hams, glutes, and shoulders. Peeled 35 lbs off doing this and diet. Takes about 25 min to do the routine. Think about the body on sprinters these days.
 
True, sprinters are quite jacked but I find even doing sprints over long dist jog, I still get to lean.
Does anyone have the same problem?

I'm really gonna give the brink incline walk for 30-40mins a solid go and see if it's my solution.
 
A heart beat of around 113 is what's listed as the best "fat burning" heart rate for my age. So I do 30 minutes treadmill and 10 minutes on bike keeping my heart rate in that range. I do this every morning before I eat anything. Everything I've read states that going OVER that range, or longer periods of cardio start to go beyond burning fat and burn muscle. I personally believe this to be true!
