RUNNING, RUNNING, RUNNING. NOT JOGGING RUNNING.

I would tell you to average about 12 miles per week. If you are a begginer, you should roll with 4 three mile runs per week. you should finish your 3 miles in less than 30 minutes.

Eventually you should graduate to running 72 miles per month:
months 1-4: week 1- (4) 3 mile runs, weeks 2 thru 4 -(1) 6 mile run (2) 3 mile runs.

months 5-6: (2) 6 mile runs and (2) 3 mile runs

No matter what your weight loss goals this will get you there, running these miles are easier than you think, you just have to try. Its become addicting to me and you get to east whatever you want whithin reason. Talk about a metabolism starter.

I love running and I used to do it as my sole source of cardio, but that didn't last as long as I would like due to feet and shin issues. If your going to run as your only source of cardio, make sure your feet get plenty of rest in between runs and take care of your feet if needed (ice, massage, ect). I personally would not recommend running too far too often unless your know what your doing. Just my $00.02
