What protein powders are the best?

This is going to be interesting... I use eggs, chicken, beef, cottage cheese and that kind of stuff. I don't waste my money on that stuff...

I only use isolates with a good amount of Leucine in the amino acid profile. I think all other powders are garbage.

I used to never use protein powder now I only use it once in a while if im feeling lazy or if I dont feel like eating. I use powders for situations like that. Sometimes PWO as well.

I hardly ever use it but I do like allmax hexapro I mix it with a carton off egg whites for flavor and hope there really is protein in the powder lol. Like Tbone said I get it all from food I drink 2 cartons of eggs ed too

Just about anything is going to be better than that Walmart crap. It really depends on what your requirements are, but muscle milk/optimum nutrition/bpi/cellucor/Jay Robb/isopure/Allmax/etc are all good to go. Just have to read the labels and decide what you're looking for. (carbs, certain BCAA profiles, protein source, type of protein, et cetera)

My .02c :)

Hexapro actually tastes really good!

My job keep me busy and it's hard to get in real meals sometimes and I know I'll probably catch some flack for this but Muscle Pharm combat powder with a cup of ground up oats is typically my go to. Also if you like to cook with your protien this one does pretty well for a protien blend (Isolates cook the best IMO.) ON nutrion makes a pretty god powder to not the best but it's reputation speaks for itself and if you have a sweet tooth they have about 20+ flavors that have really helped surpress my sweet tooth expecially on cuts

I'm the same what helped is buying a big ass thermos I take white rice and chicken ed at least 2 meals there

I like most of the MusclePharm Combat flavours...

I've just ordered some Pro-Jym too - I buy into Jim Stoppani's 'openness' regarding proprietary blends, and being honest with the customer - I've heard his S'mores powder is very tasty. So that's what I ordered.

I actually drink less protein when I'm watching my intake - I just find it comes in handy for making up the macros on days when I'm off diet, or have a shit load of work on.

I also like it as a change for breakfast... chuck a banana and some oats and seeds in it - and it's a healthy alternative to my eggs and porridge.

Yeah, anything tastes better than Six Star...man, that takes me back to my college days lol.

As far as taste, the best I've had are:

Trutein (chocolate pb cup and chocolate covered strawberry)
the old rocky road and apple cinnamon W2BM (almost ashamed to admit that now, but the flavor on those was still solid)
And the new Thin Mint Yo-Whey from Muscle Research (which smells identical to the cookies and tastes about as close as you can get; though you do get more sugar than most, fyi)

And I'll echo the rest of "it's not at all necessary." However, if you're looking for one and taste is a priority, those all qualify (and I've yet to try it, but I've heard the PES snickerdoodle is great).

pure iso-whey and/or iso rice protein.

This ^^^^ rule of thumb for me. I keep it simple, flavor for me is important. I don't put all that much stock in the powders so I'm not that picky. They all have a certain amount of protein say in the iso - whey but I also do the egg thing. Lots of eggs an I also use milk. I have always gotten good results with eggs and milk n whey protein in my old days.
