what should i say to the doctor???

hey guys i wanna go take a blood test to see where my test levels are. so what should i say to them so they dont think i just want to see if my steroids are real????? there has to be a reason to get my blood tested what should my excuse be?? Help!!!!! i really need to check it

Try saying you are having sexual problems. Say you just have no interest in it at all and say you feel tired all the time.

Worked for me. If thats you in the pic, I'd wear a longsleeve lol

Why not go to a doctor specializing in hormone replacement and tell him you think you might have low testosterone and want to have a test. Heck, you might even walk out with a prescription! ;)

If you are not completely strapped for cash, why don't you just go to privatemdlabs and get a hormone test for 50 bucks. That way you don't even need to see a doc and they will just email you your results. Just a suggestion.

Tell him what you want exactly and its because you are using steroids. Not because you want to see if you gear is good but simply want to see how your levels are so you can stay as healthy as possible. Im sure you will get the lecture but in the end he cant tell anybody and he works for you. If he doesnt do this he is not a doctor worth having. You should be able to have full disclosure with them and feel confident that they are there to help you stay healthy......

I would go this route due to ease of use. If that's not going to work for you, I see no reason why you can't state what blood work you want done without having to give some sort of explanation other that you want to know what's going on with your body. Same thing with checking lipids.

This and Mt-momma's too :-)

Yes, go online. LABcorps are everywhere. I get mine checked every 4 weeks. Easy as pie and my doc knows nothing.

American medicine is all skrewy today. And it's not just your insurance companie's ability to deny you coverage that's at issue. Your doctor assumes a level of legal liability everytime he sees you. He in no way can condone illegal AAS use without opening himself to the possibility of medical malpractice. So cut your doc a break, even if he's your best friend.... Try not to put him/her in this position in a non emergency situation. Just play the game. Chances are he'll know not to ask to many questions.
I just saw my doc for a physical, He's great at talking around the issue. He basically approves of my choices, he wants me to be healthy though. His way of saying "keep your cycles reasonable is "try not to get too big" So far I've had no health issues related to my AAS use, so we go along with a wink and nod. It works.

I can tell my doctor anything. Dont get that confused with I can ask him for anything (though I probably could some things should be seperate) Your not asking for a prescription or permission. Your simply asking for a blood screen. Doctors can not disclose patients info to insurance companies. All they can do is submit a procedure to them and then the insurance company has the right to deny payment or not. Im pretty sure there isnt an insurance company out there that will deny a claim on a blood panel. 10 bucks co pay. The down side to using your doctor is he is human and will he judge you ? Yes he will he condone it? Probably not! Will he want you to be healthy? Yes!!! If you really feel like you cant speek with your doctor about anything health wise.... then you really need a new doctor! All that being said whats 50 bucks in the grand scheme of the game really! Now I dont know if thats what the these labs charge and you still have to pay to have the blood drawn by someone else locally or not. Someone else will have to chime in on that. But your doctor with insurance for me..... everthing 10 bucks.

What test would you need to order from privatemdlabs? I looked and there is a lot of testosterone tests...thanks!

You will need to get the "Hormone Panel for Females." That test is 59.00 dollars but you can search for some coupon codes online for like 10% off. When you order the test and when you are typing in your information, there will be a drop down box that allows you to chose your sex as a "male." Doing the female hormone panel is cheaper. I have used it several times.

Test Includes:
-Estradiol, serum;
-Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH);
-Luteinizing Hormone (LH);
-Testosterone, serum;
-Complete Blood Count (CBC): Hematocrit; hemoglobin; mean corpuscular volume (MCV); mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH); mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC); red cell distribution width (RDW); percentage and absolute differential counts; platelet count; red cell count; white blood cell count; immature granulocytes.
-Comprehensive Metabolic Profile (CMP): A:G ratio; albumin, serum; alkaline phosphatase, serum; ALT (SGPT); AST (SGOT); bilirubin, total; BUN; BUN:creatinine ratio; calcium, serum; carbon dioxide, total; chloride, serum; creatinine, serum; globulin, total; glucose, serum; potassium, serum; protein, total, serum; sodium, serum.
