What snack can you EAT

Hello,

Me & My Wife, Are trying to diet and tone up abit.
We are trying to tone up abit she is 5'7 or so and about 115
I am 5'9, 166

We are trying to find what would the best snack be for a night time movie
 
just be rational about it.

popcorn is fine, just omit butter and excess salt.
cheese and whine

or make it a "cheat" nite. thats what me and my wife do..and we order in or get take out.

I also agree with this option just dont go overboard
 
Turkey Jerkey, protein shake, berries, celery with all natural peanut butter, - just be sure not to eat any carbs in between meals - atleast not by themselves. Even beef with steak sauce is better than eating potato chips.
 
use common sense when snacking.

a bowl of ice cream? fine as a snack.
a carton of ice cream with half a bottle of hersheys and a jar of peanut butter? probably not so fine.

assuming your snack foods do not make up the majority of your diet, an occasional deviation from your diet is hardly going to negatively affect what progress youve made/will make. whats going to determine your progress is what you are eating the other 95% of the time.

you could even time a high carb/low fat snack time after a weight workout and worry even less about any negative effects.

of course the typical popcorn/celery stalks/fruit cups/etc are fine. regularly eating a 1 pound bag of skittles might not be the best idea.

but we're splitting it? so its only 1/2 lb.

in that case, only eat the red and green ones. They are more anabolic. Limited edition colors like blue are even more so.

I heard about that in a study done a few weeks ago.. weird isnt it, how coulda thunk red and green skittles are actually as anabolic as you can get for a meal?? lol
 
Nuts (almonds or pistachios) are great for that. Tbsp of peanut butter. Beef jerky. I try to limit popcorn but if I do I make it fresh air popped. I try to stay away from ice cream because it's hard to just eat one scoop :) so if I need that fix I get the fat free, no sugar added yogurt and sprinkle in some nuts or a little whole grain cereal and i'm golden :)
