Ok homies if you had to pick the essential supplements for hard gainers what would they be and what are the top 3 supplements should a hard gainer should take in order from most important to least important.
Eat. Seriously, eat more. Putting supplements in you is more expensive and less effective than real food. What are you eating, how much and how often, and how are you training?
Yes, Food and lots of it. Beyond that I would use whey protein, a multi, and maybe creatine. I like whey to build muscle cinnamon bun flavor and ruthless 3d multi.
I'm eating ally of stuff life whatever i want sometimes fast food some times easy Mac done times pb and j i east what ever i want. I normally eat like three thousand calories and 160 grams of protein
first and foremost, Eat alot of good quality whole foods. at least 1g protein/body lb, and at least 2g carbs per lb as well preferably from fruits & veggies. oatmeal & quinua is good too!
as for supps, 1. a good multi vit
2. protein
3.omega fats (krill oil is my fav)
4.creatine
5. arginine or nitrix supp
6. bcaa's before and after workouts
7. ZMA
8. and always simple sugars after workouts!! i like gummy bears haha
I'd probably agree with chain if we're picking just 3. And if 3k calories isn't enough, just bump it to 3500; then 4k, etc. until you're satisfied.
And if you're not using a program like fitday or something else, already, to specifically track your cals and macros and not just guess, then do that. That's an investment that is really worth it and makes all the difference.
his problem is gaining weight. sugars to restore glycogen after training. and i was just writing them outta the top of my head. yes i agree creatine beats out fishoils for mass gaining
Fish oil is a natural anti-inflammatory. It's great (in my experience) for sore muscles and joints after a particularly heavy lifting session (remember, I am a power lifter; I don't do "machines"), and it's good fat calories to boot.
Sugars during and after workouts are good if you're hitting that level that you need them. Don't do a workout at 140bpm heartrate and think that you need to be pounding lots of fructose. If you work hard, and you work long (minimum fifteen minutes to absorb dextrose and glucose in the case of gatorade), having some sugars while you workout is good.
After your workout, some longer carbohydrates are good. Carbolin (or whatever, that's close to its spelling) will help you replenish your glycogen stores. But do me a favor: eat some apples, bananas, and grapes. You clearly aren't eating enough and your diet sucks.
Wtf is your beef with easy Mac bra? In reply to the dude that said keep tack of your calories you do have a good point and i trend to push myself to eat more when i do keep track but i get lazy and rarely keep track i think i will start to keep track soon.
If you are a hardgainer, you need to consume excess clean calories and protein .. here is a good place to start with a good, clean weight gainer that has health ingredients..Not one that has tons of sugar and other garbage ingredients in it.
Over 40 grams of high-quality protein per serving
-Over 400 calories per serving
-Only 2 grams of sugar
-Contains Mod6 Carb – an amazing carbohydrate powder was developed by the USDA.
-Filled with slow-burning complex carbohydrates - in the form of the great tasting Sweet Potato powder.
-Loaded with healthy Omega 3 essential fatty acids - in the form of: DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid);
-13.5 Servings of this highly anabolic mixture!
Tons of food, whatever you can eat. I am not advocating clean eating to any hard gainers because if they have trouble eating already then there is no way in hell they are going to be able to eat 8-9 clean meals a day. With that said eat anything and everything as long as it's got some protein in it but keep carbs really high. I am having trouble gaining currently as well, i have an absolutely insane metabolism as well. It will be difficult at first but just keep at it eventually the scale starts moving and you gain at a steady rate. N2 Bulk is a good idea but just make sure you are eating a ton and throw in ice cream/peanut butter/oats/olive oil into your shakes. I try to drink 3 shakes throughout the day between meals and it seems to help. It gets a lot more difficult the bigger you get because when you train you burn more cals than when you were smaller and your metabolism is sped up even more. I have to smash 5-6k calories + to actually gain through the week, you bet your ass it's not clean either because every meal has to be around 1k-1.5k calories. Get like 3-4 burgers post workout or something, people are gonna preach to a dead choir on eating clean. If you have that hard of a time gaining don't be afraid to order up a medium pizza but you better eat that entire thing even if your not hungry it will suck. People think it's easy but it isn't i get sick of dirty foods too and have to back off time to time. Good luck man!
If all else fails, do it dirty for a while, and worry about trimming the fat off later. If your metabolism is that high that it's hard to gain weight, your not gonna have any troubles trimming the fat off
