What to expect with TRT?

I saw my endocrineologist today and he prescribed 200 mg testosterone cypionate every 2 weeks. My T level was 339.2 (348-1197 range). It's been there for a few months.

What should I expect? Also, I am a semi competitive disctance runner - will this affect my performance. I also lift weights 3x a week. Is testosterone cypionate the same thing body builders use?

How long do you think you've been on the low side? If you've been that low forever then you should expect to have more energy, more sex drive, and be able to put on muscle easier, etc. All the things you'd expect. Although, 200mg every 2 weeks is a no-no...you'll be on a hormonal roller coaster. Good protocols are usually every 5 day shots. You'll also want an A.I. and HCG if you don't want your boys to shrink and/or have kids....

Yes it's the same thing bodybuilders use but in a much smaller dosage. Your performance should get much better...

I've been on the low side several years. I was on hcg a while back. I have all the kids I want now. What is A.I.?

I am very concerned about a hormonal roller coaster. One of my symptoms has been mild depression. I am hoping the T will correct that.

Anti estrogen. Bloodwork will be needed to determine if you'll need it, but it's standard in most Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) protocols. I would ask your doc to think about adding Arimidex to your protocol. What was your estrogen level before you started the therapy? And trust me, you're going to be on a hormonal roller coaster with once every 2 week injections....I would fight for every 5 days if I were you, or find a new doc who is willing to put you on a proper protocol.......Maximus cough cough

Some good advice has been given. I would like to add that you can get away with test injections once every 7 days. I have been doing that for awhile and I feel fine. A.I mean Aromatase Inhibitor which is an Anti-Estrogen in simpler terms. So I would prompt your doctor to do once a week injections for more stable blood levels. He shouldn't have an issue doing this because you would be taking the same amount so 100mg per week. Anything longer than 7 days and your levels start to crash and then you get on a hormonal rollercoaster like Wolfman said. Best of luck.

Agree with this. Every other week is old school. Too much of a roller coaster - the last few days of every other week, you will only have about 1/3 of your peak levels and will likely feel the ups and downs.
Take 100mg/week.
It will probably have a positive impact on your training - part of this is due to an increase in red blood cell count. Monitor this because if it gets too high it's dangerous - a telltale sign is that your face may get ruddy (reddish). Easy fix - donate blood.
