Lifting heavy weights is great, but looking good is better by far for me. At least if you look good everywhere you go people notice you and possibly admire your looks. But very few people in the gym see you and often times fewer care if you lift massive amount of weights or not.
Looking good gets me the girls; lifting heavy doesn’t get me shit!
Im a pl-er and i love lifting heavy, and as long as my diet is good, and i keep pushing heavier weight, i get bigger and look better. so i would say my main focus is getting stronger but i definately still reap the benefits of looking better
Im all show no go! I have been rediculously strong, but Ive had so many injuries that I try to keep things as light as I can and still work the muscles. Ive done 365 on the incline for 8, now I NEVER go heavier than 225 and only at the end of my workout so its heavy enough.
Well it's bodybuilding, not powerlifting for me...
That being said, my body responds better to heavier weights so it's mainly basic compound movements with heavy weights. I know that if I progressively get stronger, my body HAS to respond.
