Whats the best route to lose belly fat and gain some lean muscle?

Three weeks ago I started taking 200mg of test per week and 500 units of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) twice per week as prescribed by my doctor (Several labs came back with T levels of 133 to 160). Most of my fat is around my mid section. The test gave me the energy to get back in the gym and I feel great. I've greatly changed my diet to low carbs and high proteins and cut out all the crap foods. Is it possible to still build muscle and lose weight? If so..what's the best way to go about this? Am I hurting myself by eating low carbs? Below I have basicially outlined my diet on a daily basis. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Morning:

No fat Greek yogurt - 2 cups

Mid morning:

Atkins shake

Lunch:

Salad and then Chicken or turkey with veggies

Mid afternoon:

Atkins shake

Dinner:

1 lb of lean meat and some additional ground round for calories

2 cups of green veggies

Workout time.

Before bed:

Greek yogurt or a protein shake

You cannot spot-burn fat. You need to learn how to eat. Cut out the shakes and eat real food. Low-fat foods do not make you less fat. They have a ton of sugar and other garbage in them. Run at a deficit or run ketogenic. And exercise. At 5'9" 244, you really, really need to exercise.

Anything more than one shake a day is too much. The one shake I drink I do not count as a "meal". On work out days I do drink one ON Whey protein shake, just the essentials no sugars and only 147 calories. I use the shake to get some protein in me before I eat my PWO meal, usually from gym to house.

Bottom line, eat real food, don't drink your food. 3J can help you out on diet.

To answer your question, absolutely you can still grow muscle.

Is it possible to build muscle & lose weight ? I'm sure u mean keep or build muscle and lose "fat".. is it possible ? Well, in order to not lose muscle when u lose weight, your diet/trainign have to be on key...Muscle needs protein and fat and good sources of carbs for energy to run and build..So if u want to lose fat u need muscles..check your progress not with a scale, but rather monitor your body composition...

A low carb diet can be effective, but based on wht you posted your only eating 2 "real" meals, the rest are shakes amd/or Greek yogurt.. and BTW, the brand of greek yogurt I buy has 32g of sugar and 33g of carbs per 1 cup serving, so keep in mind that your probably eating "based only on the greek yogurt" around 6 cups of yogurt, so that= to 198 grams of carbs only from the yogurt... you need to re-evaluate your diet, and substitute the shakes and most of the yogurt for real food, good lean protein & complex carbs & good fats..
Check our diet forum & contact 3J... he can guide u in the right direction
