Whats the point of 50 post req ?

I'm curious what the point of the 50 post requirement really is ?
Even with moderating approval...you often post advertising and stuff you have to revert and delete after its posted...

So the question becomes...why would you have that requirement when your own mods cant even moderate said posts to begin with ?
Then you're only hurting traffic and new users for absolutely no reason ??

Or what I'm i missing here ?
 
It stops Spaming and scamming new user dead. It totally a protecting. there used to be a lot of scamming of newbies on forums. They are new they know no one and they are hot and looking to score. It keeps spammers from signing up and pming the members to try to sell them shit.

As you see below, my question was phrased bit stupid...
Obviously I understand why its there...my question is why its so high at 50 posts and say not 10.
It would serve the same purpose ?

And since there's regularly people below 50 posts that gets mod approval to post shit that shouldn't be posted...it seems bit high to have that requirement when its not even enforced at the first level.
 
the 50 post requirement is there to protect members from scammers and keep spam under control.. as to why its 50 and not some other number, thats not in my hands and the ology gods make those choices

It was set by a professional who has delt with the traffic load and spam load we experience here. It has been very effective for the last 10 years.You have no clue what goes on behind the senses. From time to time stuff gets past the filters that shouldn't. Is the system perfect no but it works for now. We are migrating to a new platform soon and everything will change a little. But point blank this someone else house. You are a guest don't ever forget that. We do our best to provide a great resource of information to keep people safe in relaxed community environment of like minded people. You won't find a better source of information or people. the thing that sets Steroidology above other sites is that the people here and the staff care about each other safe and the new guy.

Feds might not be as likely to stick around if they have to post 50 times. Also, if someone creates an account, and makes 50 posts within 10 minutes it kind of shows the admins that the account may be a fed.
 
I'm more curious as to why there are no longer aas sponsors...

I've been here through the uncle, pinnacle, purity, and a few more. We need a new sponsor!!

New guys come on here and don’t realize that their actually privileged to be amongst a great bunch of people that’s like family. Ology is my mother board. My brother got me on here a few years back. I had no clue to what a forum even was lol. I love rhis place and every once in a while you even get to feed a TROLL;)

It's actually more than just 50 posts. There is a time requirement also. We arent stupid we have been at this for more than 15 years. We have seen it all. You goys have now clue how fun this place was when everyine didnt take everythis so serious. Now adays everyone is a some sort of ist racist, sexist what ever. We used to have an equal opportunity hate coorative here where we made fun of everyone. No one was safe but it was in fun now malice.

There was a golden age...
 
I’ll admit that I found the requirement very aggravating. Having it take a day or more to get responses approved, I felt like, caused my posts to not get near the traffic it could have; robbing me of potentially useful info. Still, I don’t know what real work gets done by those 50 posts and I figure it’s a small price to pay. There is a lot to be said about questioning authority, regulations and such, but in this case I’m ok with it.

You're absolutely right. I don't... But I do see the site is pretty much dead with a handful of people posting. I wish that was not the case. And perhaps less requirements to post would help in that case.
Again, I dont know...Thats why I brought it up and asked :)
 
50 seems fair, especial when the moderators seems to get posts approved pretty quick... I don’t mind.

This has been lifted and new members can post directly to the forums now without having to wait for Mod approval. :dance2:
No more 50 post required!
