when doing squats

when you're doing squats is better took keep your weight more on the balls of your feet, centered, or push more through our heels.

and is there any reason some guys put a 5lbs or a 10lbs weight under their heels?
 
no weights under your heels..people do that because they have no idea how to squat..

footwear is important as well..a flat soled sneaker like chuck taylors are best..ditch the jacked up heel running shoes..

when squatting i think of spreading the floor with my feet and flaring my knees outward

what about breaking 90 degrees. i was told its bad for your knees, but i was also told its the only way to do them.

Is this technique best for lifting the max amount of poundage? I ask because I like to push through my heels because I feel it more in my glutes, but how much weight I put up isn't really an issue for me.

depends on your style and stance..
pushing through your heels is gonna make your butt come up first which leads to getting bent over..nothing wrong with that..Goggins squats that way with a lot of back..

personally i squat much wider and use more glutes/hips.."spreading the floor" allows you to stay more upright and slide the hips through faster..

really just a matter of preference

pushing thru the heels is fine sis.
