Figured it'd be interesting to see all of our backgrounds. I was very hesitant about this post because I'm afraid that it could turn into a military vs anti-military flame-thread, but I guess I don't really care. I'm proud of my background! I understand some of you may still be active or unable to discuss specifics, so Branch alone will suffice!

US Army here.

Are you IRR? If so it's just showing up for a short time so they can update their information and make sure you're up to date on shots, etc. They'll probably try to make you join the reserves or whatever.

Yeah that's the info that came up when I Googled it.

My buddy just got out too, but he didn't get a letter about it. So I was just wondering about it. Oh well, atleast i'm getting paid to go.
 
yeah, I wouldn't sweat it. More of an inconvenience than anything. With all the cuts and crap going on right now it doesn't really mean a thing.

When I was in the Corps I went to jump school at Benning. Guys down there use to say....."only 2 things fall from the sky. Man from heaven, and the Airborn Rangers"
 
or recon marines, or navy seals, or army SF, or airborne infantry, or some second lieutenant fresh out of ROTC... lol. Airborne was a good time for sure though.
 
bad ass....my older brother was a sniper in the Marines for 9 years...little brother was special forces for 4 years.

I absolutely love our military!
