I'm sure their is a thread somewhere around the forum about why you started lifting and what keeps you motivated but I couldn't find it so I'm doing this one. I started lifting when I was 17. A girl broke up with me and I couldn't figure out why so in my young mind I thought it must've been because of this stomach so it started. Then around 22ish I slowed down a lot then I go married and started having children. That's when I wanted to be that big dad that my kids could look up to and be the dad their friends would tell their dads about. Yes I know it's prideful but it is was drives me and keeps me in the gym 5 days a week. Only reason I have any kind of definition is my wife likes me cut up so I do that from time to time. I'm a power lifter at heart and I always will be. It also is a huge stress reliever for me. Cardio for me personally does nothing. Doesn't make me feel better, it doesn't release stress but once again I do it so my wife gets her abs a month or two of the year. Lol. Anyway if you guys would care to share why you lift. I'm curious.
