Even yates didnt really do HIT work. He did less volume....but not 1 set/ movement.

I dont think you need massive sets. But you need more then just one.
Just goes to prove that it doesn't matter what you or some other bodybuilder wanna be "thinks", but only the TRUTH matters.

Read this excerpt taken from the following website regarding how Dorian Yates ACTUALLY trained: http://www.cbass.com/YATES.HTM

"Finally, what makes Dorian's story even more instructive is the fact that from the very beginning he rejected the high-set, volume approach and followed the HIT (high intensity training) philosophy of bodybuilding. Influenced by the teaching of Mike Mentzer - it made sense, he says - Dorian began with hard, brief and infrequent workouts. That system - and great genetics - took him to the pinnacle of the sport of bodybuilding, the Mr. Olympia title, not once but six times. Even as a beginner, Yates never did more than three sets per exercise and one of those sets was a warm-up. Over a period of several years, he progressed to doing only one all-out main set (after warm-up). That method, consistently applied, made him the world's best bodybuilder."

i don't understand the point of lifting and NOT going to faliure. i use AST Sports version of HIT and it works great.

EXAMPLE FOR CHEST:

2 sets Warm Up
1 set Flat Bench 6-10
1 set Incline Bench 6-10
1 set Decline Bench 6-10
1 set Flys 6-10

I think 1 or 2 work sets per muscle group would work better than the above

i have in fact made gains off 1 work set per movement when using this pricipal and this often times icludes working up to 1 heavy single. i dont do it all the time but have found it to be effective when i do. you can read my training log to see it. i aint the strongest guy in the world but outlift 99% of the folks on ths board. for you to say it dont work shows your lack of knowledge about training.

i have no idea who Jon Defendis is btw.
same here
