my doctor told me my testosterone is low at my age i am 20 and 400-420 ng/dL. Told me i need to try 1000 ng/dL levels and need to cut SSRI because trt is more safe than SSRIs he told me ( i dont know its true ? )

if i feel big change in my libido ( i am low libido ) and mood, he told me we need to try a restart protocol but first, he wants me on 1000 ng/dL then restart therapy. I dont know my doctor is stupid ? because i dont know if 400 is low. yes i feel low libido and weak but i dont feel tired.

I dont think your ready for TRT yet. Its not like your TT is 150. Yea 400 isn't great but at your age we personally do not think it warrants treatment.

With that being said a full health history and more labs would be needed to make an educated suggestion.

Please describe yous symptoms as to why you "feel" that you have low T.

i feel less confidence around girls and feel like beta male. when im high testosterone i feel like man. now i am low libido.

So you have cycled AAS previously to know the difference?

Kind of important to include these things. :)

No aas. 200 mg testosterone for week

Testosterone IS an Anabolic Androgenic Steroid. One week won't have you feeling anything I'm afraid.

Would you feel a difference at 1000ng/dL? Probably. Will it suddenly make you a champion with the ladies and shred you up to Greek God status? Nooooop.

Oh, and it's for life. It's not a temporary thing that you do to see how you feel, that's just asinine. Your doctor sounds like a quack, as he should be looking into causes, not a band-aid fix for you.

If you can, post up some more information; like more blood test data, how long you've felt this way, and any potential trauma to the head/neck/testes. Unless your stint with a week on testosterone was right before your blood test, it's also important to know what time your blood draw was at.

I think you need the assistance of a trained medical professional, not the advice of a random Joe (me) off the Internet. Suicide isn't something I take lightly, so please seek psychological counsel if this is truly a serious consideration.

Having confidence around girls has nothing to do your Testosterone levels. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. AND its dangerous. Where is your will?

at 20 you likely have 5ish more years of development ahead of you and this could leave you with high or normal levels by 25yrs. but using aas could mess up that development and for live, leaving you needing hrt for life from a young age (now)
i would give it a few more years personally.
I do agree with the ssri vs. hrt though. but i would wait and try to stop the ssri, shits can be wack and most just need cognative thearapy and a shif on there outlooks from within, a pill will oly be a banaid IMO.

also at 20 your likely having natural hormone fluctuations (puberty) and this could add to moodiness.

I would get blood work every six months and see where you are over the next year , thats my recommendation.
and google/youtube "cognitive therapy for depression" lots of audio books out there and maybe you will find some help from them, I know I did. meditation an personal reflection wont come out of thin air but the books can be stepping stones to getting there for yourself.

good luck man. :) stay strong

my real problem is social anxiety. worse than depression and like cancer (im serious). this shit fucked my whole life.

If you're suffering badly from social anxiety and / or depression then I'd consider an SSRI ideally in conjunction with therapy.

SSRIs are pretty safe. They have some risks associated with them, in particular a new patient might be more at risk of suicide or self-harm, but the side effects are manageable. The thing is to decide whether the upsides balance out the downsides.

TRT also has downsides, including a potential loss of fertility, lifetime dependence, and (possibly) increased risks of prostate cancer and heart problems.

Depression can be tough to treat. Different drugs have different effects on people, and so you might need to try a few medications before you find one that works.

If you are on an antidepressant then you can stop taking it. It's not a lifetime therapy. Coming off can be rough.

There's a relationship between depression and low T, but it's not clear whether it's a cause or a symptom. TRT can help, but it's more useful when mood is persistently down, rather than a major episode.

Bignoknow's YouTube channel has a fair amount of content about depression and low T. If you're going down the TRT route then it'll be worth a look.
