24 and depressive - HRT?

Hi everyone,
I'm a medical student from Germany and Im 24 years old. Ive been depressive for 10 years now. I feel no energy whatsoever, Im always tired although I sleep enough and I have no impetus. Sometimes I feel like a 100 y old guy among mid twenties.
I tried out almost everything: I changed my nutrition (I only eat fruits, vegetables, flesh and nuts), I started to do a lot of sports (running up to 80 km a week), at the moment I do bodybuilding 3-4 times a week. I took the most stimulating antidepressants on the market (MAO-Inhibitors) and Ive been doing a psychotherapy for 1.5 years right now which I had to pay by myself because the insurrancy does not pay. But it didnt help. I drink 2 lit. of coffee every day to stay awake.
I started to think wether theres sth. wrong with my hormones. Ive got a BMI of 27-28. My body fat composition is 24-25 % body fat and the distribution is very feminine, almost all the fat is located at the ass and the breast. I had several anaemias in the past and my blood fats have been continuously high. So I went to an Endo and the results were: 280 ng/ml (range starts at 280) total test and 16 nmol/l shbg (range starts at 13 to 56). FSH was at the lower edge of the range and LH was low but more above the lower edge of the range. Estrogene and Prolactine were ok. thyroid hormones were at the lower edge too.
But the Endo said everything is fine and didnt do anything. so did an urologist who I asked afterwards.
Half a year later I was still depressive and Im starting to have problems with having an erection.
Im really desperate and Im ready to do anything to get out of that state because its not near comparable to life what Im living right now. So I would like to take part in that HRT-protocoll but unfortunately Im 24 years old and from Germany. I would be very thankful for any advice.

If you lived in US, your answer would be simple which is get with Maximus. Testosterone of 280 is extremely low. Where are your estrogen levels? I dont think you are depressed. I think depression is just a symptom you are feeling because of low T. It is definately your hormones. You will have to search for the right doc who is willing to privide the right TRT. I was drinking a bunch of coffee also before I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) cuz of no energy. Now I it's only one cup a day.

It is easier said then done, but I think if I lived in a different country where I wasn't happy and I could afford to come to US just to be treated by maximus and have a good life. I would do it. Then you have to be blessed enough to have the luxury to do that.

.

I know its low but doctors dont care. Especially in Germany doctors are extremely conservative/ not open to experimental approaches. As I said Im still a student in the 4th year. In 2 years I could prescribe everything I need to myself. I really just would like to try it out, but dont know about the dosages and the combination of drugs. If I knew about that and if I could present corresponding studies to my doctor I would be a lot more persuasive. I dont believe that I would ruin my hormonal axis for ever just from trying it out for 2 months or so.
Isnt there any possibility for an exceptional deal between chip and me? Its only about advising. I could pay by credit card.

I don't think so buddy? I think he could get in trouble for even consulting you.. Damn that really sucks bc you really need to be treated.. Go to theHiddendisease.com.. click on medical studies..There's some good studies on there.. I'll try and find some more for you.. I read so many of them before I started testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but I'm not really up
on it lately..

:dunno: Buy gear online, self medicate, get blood tests done very 2-3 months and ask for advice :dunno:

I'm not really pro-self medicating but if they won't treat your illness over there, and it is an illness, then do what u can?? Try educating yourself first and go to the doctor w/ a power point presentation on the benefits of TRT.. That what Cashout did and he said his doctor was very receptive.. See what happens?

I have struggled with depression for many years and have been on and off anti-depressants since I was 12 years old. I am 24 now. I was diagnosed with low T about a year and a half ago. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) has helped my depression immensely. I understand your pain. Try to shop around for docs if you can and find one that will work with you. For me unfortunately my doc was an idiot and would only give me 100mg of test every 3 weeks! He refused to listen to anything I said about Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), ai's and more frequent injections with higher doses. My levels went from 268 to 292 and he would not increase the dose. I have no insurance and could not afford another doc, as this is the only one that would work with me. I have chosen to do this on my own, which I don't recommend unless its a last resort.

Have you looked into Maximus and Chips help?

Nice to hear from your experience Meathead. It encourages me to try it out - eventually even without consent of my doc. From what I hear gels are crap, so I would like to try out Nebido for two months for a start. I dont know about the dosage. I heard that users recommend to repeat the nebido injection after 3 weeks to get constant levels. I would measure T-levels, estrogene, shbg, progesterone and thyroid hormones after 2 weeks again for control. What do you think about that approach?
Or would you rather recommend hcg and arimidex?

Aschahin, there has been some good advice given in this thread. Here is the deal. I would do a lot of research before jumping on anything at the moment. Research docs in your area that specialize in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) treatment. Hell, research docs that are within a long driving distance as well. Look up anti aging clinics, etc. as some of those docs will be more open to treat TRT. Again, it just depends on the doctors out there. I would join some steroid/health and fitness boards particularly based in Germany. Some of them might have some doctors that are very familiar with testosterone, etc.

Self medicating would be my last resort. However, if I was in your shoes and I hit a dead end and nobody was willing to help me like Chip helped me, yes I would self medicate and I don't give a shit what anybody says either. I went through 4 doctors before I found Chip. All these doctors were not fond of nor willing to get me on a good testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol. They offered me cholesterol meds, depression meds, etc. I refused them and kept searching. This is a timely process so give it all you got and I am sure you will find some sources to help you out. My current doc is a DOM (Doctor of Oriental Medicine) and is very open to hormone treatment. I let Chip treat my testosterone and go to her for my thyroid issues. I have actually educated her on efficient testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) Therapy. Again, she is a very open doctor and listens to the patient unlike a lot of doctors out there. Keep your head up, start researching things and then see what you can turn up. Again, self medicating should be a last resort. If you need testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), you will want a prescription for it for legal reasons. However, I am also realistic and if you are having no luck, I would self medicate. Good luck.
