4 Vs 5 in a split ?? low or high reps ??

im doing a 5 day split at this time
day1. back
day2. chest calfs
day3. rest & cardio
day4. arms
day5. legs
day6. shoulders traps
day7. rest cardio


im thinking of changing to a four day to get more rest long work hours you know !!

so ??
over 7 days
monday chest bi's
tuesday legs including calfs
wed rest & cardio
thursday shoulders & tri's
friday back
sat off cardio
sunday off off off

and at this time i have my heavy days when i feel strongest 6-8 reps to fail

i have my med days 8-10 reps some sets to fail

and when im tired beat i do light 10-12 reps

i keep my form strict so i hardly ever hit my max weight

or over 8 days

day 1chest & bi's
day 2 off cardio
day 3 legs
day 4 cardio off
day 5 shoulders and tri's
day 6 off cardio
day 7 back
day 8 off off off

im looking to gain size and strength

you ever thought about a 3 day spilt. just curious you said your looking for strength and with that obviously comes size. 3 days always proves to be very effective for most. there some great 3 day splits out there, Bill Stars 5x5, Variation X, Westside, Sheiko you name it. Big Iron if you can find it they stay on the DL.
