I am very aware of who Lyle is, I do plenty of research and read studies often.

If the above point is true, and you interpreted the research correctly, then you wouldn't of disagreed with my original statement to begin with.

The big names dont use my approach because, again, psychologically most people cant handle it. Plus, large caloric deficits aren't exactly fashionable for them to generate new business :)
I agree with the rest of your post about finding what works best - especially for long term success.

Also, Layne lost alot of respect in the industry when he posted a video about metabolic "damage", complete bullshit based on poor evidence. I'm not saying don't listen to him - just don't treat his advice as law either.

Matt, are you seeing changes in your body in the mirror, more vascularity, or anything that would lead you to believe body fat % is dropping? One would have to believe that if you have lost that much weight and managed to maintain your strength that you have improved your body composition more than the pictures lead us to believe.
 
1,000 cal deficit isn't as drastic as some of you are making it out to be. Especially when you add gear in as one of the variables you can absolutely minimize muscle loss if all your ducks are in a row
 
I agree I blast and cruise, I dont pct, so I never go into a catabolic state I am sure I can go on a 1000 cal caloric deficit as well but I am sure I will feel like complete shit as well, 15% deficit is enough for me right now, as I am loosing around 1% bf per week 1/2" off my waist linne, I am very happy with my results in 4 weeks time, and yes my strength is still up, and getting more vascular in certain area's, still got about 8 to 10 weeks to go but i will achieve what I set out what I want, thats how my mind operates, obsessed, dont cheat on , my diet what so ever
When itcomes to refeed day I eat whatever the fuck I want too as long as it fits in my macros something u look forward to when dieting

Bro my first week I lost around 11lbs to 12lbs of water, the rest is now bitig into my body fat, tape measures dont lie bro
Yes amd I take a cloth tape and measure around my waist and neck once a week ( sunday), and like I said loosing 1/2" off my waist line per week and holding onto my muscle mass

Can I ask u a question when u gain 20lbs on a cycle u think thats all muscle u gained lol, maybe 3-5lbs of muscle if your lucky bro

FYI: That's me in my avatar last summer on my 42nd birthday....

I didn't touch AAS until I was 39 - my gains came from hard training, clean eating and progressive overload.

I'll be interested to see how you look if you make 42. I hope you do.

And my 12yr old nephew's calves aren't quite as big as mine - but if he keeps progressing like he is with his scooter, they'll catch up in no time!

You won't get any more flaming from me - I've said my piece... you put your pics on here for feedback, I just gave you mine, sorry it wasn't as positive as you wanted - but I'm a realist. And realistically, you have small calves!
