5 lawsuits, TRT linked to heart attack

Its all political bs anyways
Its the way life is, everyone dies
Steroids just got a bad rap
Like when stars od on heroin, nooone cares how many other people od off heroin but when a star has a needle stuck in there arm its gotta be the bad heroin that did it not the od part

i have always...ALL MY LIFE....Bad Cholestrol around 165-200....Good Cholesterol very low 18. Doctors keep prescribing cholestrol meds. Felt like shit while taking them. Liver enzymes always out of whack on the meds. They kept recommending all sorts of vein/artery tests. So at age 46 I finally go in for an Angiogram because they say I am at high risk for a heart attack or arterial disease. I am in great shape and always have been very active my whole life. Well the doctor comes to me after the test and says "Your arteries are as clear as the day you were born" but yet they have been prescribing liver stressing cholestrol meds because of medical studies. It's all Bullshit...it's all about big drug companies and the feds getting their share. If we are healthier with TRT then drug companies lose profits Bottom line.

Like wwe wrestslers that kill there family or die for all of a sudden reason snd they automatically blame steroids, but not the crack and alc they were addicted to as well
Its all media drivin bullshit

What about the FDA investigating the deaths, from Mass Murder/Suicide pills i.e. (SSRI's e.t.c.)???
Ya, they won't go there...
Too much of a commodity for GP's and a major Cash cow for both GP's and Big pharma.
5 old guys probably in poor health or not following a healthy lifestyle rub 4 squirts of gel on their arms and immediately die....
therefore the stuff is bad.
Unbelievable.

From what I hear that test is dangerous....
the "angiogram"

I read thru the paper carefully and I think we should all keep an open mind. Best I can tell there is no agenda behind this study, meaning no one is trying to make money or stop someone from making money. The scientists that conducted the study are at the NIH and they simply analyzed a database of all patients receiving a script for TRT, and then their incidence of having a heart attack. This is not the government trying to keep us down! These NIH scientists are not really "the government" they are more like independent contractors trying to publish and make a living by helping people. Scientists at the NIH did the same thing in 50,000+ post-menopausal women on estrogen-replacement therapy for incidence of breast cancer, and there was also an increase, about 2-fold. There was no agenda here either, other than to give people information when they start a new drug therapy. Almost all drugs come with some risks, even aspirin kills a number of people a year due to GI bleeds.

Best I can tell this is a legit study and the results definitively show an increase in risk for MI when on TRT, but only in older men. My guess is that the underlying issue is not the long-term effects of testosterone on the cardiovascular system (meaning more plaque formation in vessels, etc), but is simply related to swelling, bloating, and risk of clotting. This entire effect could have gone away if the patients were also on 1x a day aspirin regimen and an anti-estrogen drug. Even with all these factors, the overall incidence of MI on TRT was still rather low (very similar to the known increase in MI incidence observed in patients on Vioxx or Celebrex).

This study is well done and legit. As a community we should learn from reports like this and think of ways to protect ourselves (anti-estrogen and aspirin)

I hear you, but why is it coincidentally all Androgel that is causing it ?
High E2 causes blood clots. A lot of conventional Endo's are not really open minded for prescribing AI's since it is "off label". We don't know if these guys donated blood either...

Problem is there's older guys after they retire that are not living physically active lives. I'm not knocking them...
but if u lay on the couch all day and just eat T.V. dinners, drink, smoke, and have stress on top of that...something's going to go screwy ie. weight gain, blood clots.
Even travelling, sitting on a semi long distance flight you risk blood clots if you don't move up out of the seat.
That's why you take an aspirin before a flight over seas.

the "angiogram"

Had it done before my valve replacement 2 years ago.
They make an incision in yur femoral artery by yur crotch. Then stick a catheter up that artery into the start of your heart vessels. They inject a dye then take a picture of vessels in your heart. Arrests that are blocked with plaque even partially show up on the X-ray. The surgeon that did my valve replacement would also do a bypass once he had access to my heart. My arterys were clear so no bypass

Complications include excessive bleeding. I had to lay prone for 2 hours after the procedure. Hot nurse grabbed my penis so I could pee In the urinal. Closed my eyes to concentrate onpeeing lol

That must have been great man!!
was she aggressive or shy ?

Yes the angiogram is not exactly the safest kind of test. Since I have been on trt all of my blood work has been good.

Yup!
The Conventional endo's don't monitor E2. They don't want to admit it either...
They know ADEX is needed to control Estradiol, but the bulk of them won't give it to their patients, so they can cover their own ass.

My endo was trained at Harvard and John Hopkins. I find it mind boggling estradiol is not something she's looking at. She wants to rule out everything before trying to control my prolactin (too late doc)...
I'll try broaching it again as megatron suggested since she's mentioned my test levels are even lower than a woman's....(!)

Bingo!!! Big money and big pharma. They want to make money. Just finished watching the Dallas buyers club starring Matthew mccon(sp). Same deal. They pushed one drug when people were having success with something much safer....an injectable protein!
