abcess?

hello fellas!! on sunday afternoon i shot 300mg of test cyp., i've been doing this for over 8 months. i took it after a shower, i cleaned the area before injecting with alcohol, i wiped the top of the vial with alcohol and used a new pin, like i always do. now on tuesday morning i noticed that my shoulder hurt. on wednesday it was slightly red and felt hot. well today it is still hurting, it's tender to touch, still slightly red and hot. the area that is red is not on the shoulder but rather between bicep and tricep and it is hard like if there is a long lump from the shoulder to the center of the arm, it is a little swollen. i'm hoping that it is not an abcess because i'm not running a fever but i'm not sure. i don't have health insurance so i don't want to go to the doc if i don't have to. any advice would be greatly appreciated

Coming from someone who has personally had a large abscess drained from his chest through three surgeries, I would tell you to use extreme caution. However, I think at this point in the game it could just be a bad injection due to many variables. However, as you said your not new at this so you should know your body well. If I were you I'd give it three more days, judge my progress, and if no improvement was made go get it checked out.

I have had the same sensation before using stuff with a cyp ester. The fourth day was the worst but it went away

Usually if it is the actual test, then it would be swollen and there could be a hard lump. The fact that it is RED, might tell me that it could be an infection. Anyway, the best thing to do is what WSURAIDER said and that is wait a few days and see if it gets better. If it doesn't get better or swells more, don't be dumb, go to the doctor.

I ahave had many red injection sites and it has been nothing. Just wait it out and see what happens if it doesnt go away soon then go to the dr.

thanks for the response fellas. i'll wait 3 days and judge my progress as WSURAIDER said if i need to go to the doc i'll definately go. i bought some cipro and i'll start taking it just in case. i'll let you guys know how it turns out. once again, thanks guys!!

wait a few more days , if its not getting better seek medical attention --

how painful is it?

when i had one in my thigh i could barely walk but caught it in time to be treated with antibiotics -
you wait to long they will have to go in and drain it -- not pretty bro
