Acceptable TRT dosages and frequency

Not quite sure where to start but I was diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism recently and have a appointment with a new endocrinologist next week. I been doing a bit of research and it appears the standard testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dosage is about 100 mg of Test cyp a week. Something that came to my attention though was that a few people were complaining that after day 5 they can feel themselves starting to feel down. Id like to avoid this roller coaster if possible and was wondering if a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dosage of test cyp 100 mg every 5 days is safe to be on long term?

I'm not really interested in having my levels so high they are way out of the range. But, I been low in testosterone for so long I'd really like to be at the highest level possible that is safe long term even if it means my levels are a bit out of the range, and for the levels to be consistent. Thanks guys :beertoast

Don't know the reason yet for my low test but I also have recently seen an endocrinologist. I apparently have the test levels of a 150 year old man. If I hadn't suggested the blood work to my primary physician they would still be scratching their heads. He prescribed 200 ml once every 2 weeks but told me that I would start to feel the "downs" after about 10 days.
I did not want to be a "know it all" but I got him to change his dosage to 100 ml every week. From what I know about test, it will stay in the system for about 10 days so I figure I will be covered by injecting every 7 days and try to avoid the roller coaster.

100mg per week is what most docs prescribe. Some will even recommend
200mg EOW. CRAZY!
Talk to CHIP here on the board about
your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) needs. He is a straight up,
professional guy who does what he says.
Good luck guys

te 100mg every week is a good starting dose. The energy level swing for every week is not that bad. I can tell you that every other week is a terrible roller coaster.

If you already have testosterone from the doctor, all you are missing is hcg and an anti estrogen.

One of the issues I had with my primary doctor is he tested me after 5 weeks of testosterone, saw my T at 465 and said "great, stay at this dose"

I have had to see an anti aging doc to get this right.

If your not feeling right at the low side of normal talk to the doc and tell him yo would like to increase it to the high side of normal to see if you feel better. It's not rocket science.

I like going every 5 days with test e or c. But you dont want your levels out of the normal range for long term trt. Thats defeating the purpose. Its highly unlikely youll be out of the normal range with that dose anyhow but your blood tests will tell.

Im not on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), but after reading this thread and a few others like this, I wondered if anyone ever tried 50 mg e3d or e4d with a mild front load of like 150 or 200 mg to start?
Thoughts?

Front loads.... Nice thought but they only prescribe it to me at months worth at a time. In other words, unless you are acquire it on your own you won't have enough.

100mg 1x EW is a pretty standard as a starting place for TRT. After 5 weeks on that protocol I switched it to 50mg 2x EW. By day 5-6 I was feeling a bit sluggish. Twice weekly has really leveled things out for me.

I just don't see how 100mgs a week is getting guys back in normal range..I'm on 300mgs a week and after 8 weeks my total test was mid 900's...Thats just a bit on the high side????

I have just recently been put on testosterone replacement therapy. I am trying to gather information on standard dosages. I just started mine with an under the tongue tablet dosage of 125/mg per day. Compared to the rest here, it seems very high. Anyone prescribed something similar to this by a specialist??

Your sub lingual dose does not translate directly milligram for milligram with testosterone administered intramuscularly. I don't know what a comparable sub lingual dose is for a 100 mg injection of testosterone cypionate but chances are your doc is erring on the conservative side.

Does anyone have an opinion regarding topical vs injectable?

My doctor (urologist...haven't seen an endocrinologist for my hypogonadism yet) used to give me an injection once a month...when I complained about the roller coaster ride, he switched me to Androgel. Had me at 7.5g/day. After 2 months went back and my T levels were "acceptable" at 301 (I'm 39 years old...shouldn't that be over 500???). I got an increase in dosage to 10g/day. It's better but somehow I think I'd be better off with a weekly injection.

"want2grow" you thread hijacker you ;>)

If your doctor had the regimin of once a month at ANY point he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. Yes, your doc should also have around 500 as the goal even if he's conservative. I would get another doctor ASAP. It won't be hard to find an endo or uro less conservative than this guy.

It's up to you but I prefer injections of ~100mg in 2 doses per week. I live in Texas, have insurance and pay $5 for a 20 week supply of T. Cyp.

had double test. cancer and doc prescribed me 300 ml of test cyp, per month! tried telling him i feel like shit but he thinks thats what i should be. its not like naturally i have low test levels, naturally i have NO test levels. any idea on who to see? been to primary physician and urologist. i think this dose prescribed is bs. any insight?

Yeah, ask your doc what the half life is of testosterone cypionate, and then ask him to explain why he thinks it's a good idea to prescribe a drug that has a half life of 5-8 day as a once a month injection. Feel free to kick him in the balls any time during his stammering and waffling. An injection once a month will put you on a hormonal roller coaster. Most people pin once a week to keep blood levels stable and many (like me) pin twice. Tell him (not ask) to change your script to 100mg once a week.

In the UK and Australia you get 1 shot every 3 weeks. Testogel 1 x 5g sachet a day. Also in Australia they wont prescribe clomid to men as its a fertility drug.

My dr recently discovered I have low T level. I take something called "Tri-Blend" by Rogue Labs 150mg/ml. I receive a shot 1x weekly of 1/2 ml, which would equal 75mg of this stuff. The label reads that this is a blend of Trendbolone Acetate, Drostanolone Propionate, & Testosterone Proprionate. What is this stuff and is this a normal dose? I've never taken steroids of any kind and am just trying to gather facts without sounding stupid to my doc.
