Accutane

Jacked and Tan
Anyone here taken low dose accutane (like 10mg a day) and had good results? My upper body/back acne has been driving me crazy for over a year now. I've tried many different methods to clear it including antibiotics. I have been on Retin-A for over three months and it has helped some but its still pretty bad. I really don't want to resort to accutane but its getting to the point where I may need to. I don't want to have to deal with sides from high doses and worry about my liver. I was thinking of trying 10mg a day. Anyone who has done this?

I've had the same problems with my back. I've tried pretty much everything except accutane and felt the same way about using it. But I recently read where getting in the tanning bed helps, so I've been going 3 days a week for about 3 weeks now and it seems to be helping. Have you thought about trying that?

I've been tanning for years and it hasn't helped me. I hear mixed opinions on that. Many say that it just aggravates your sebum glands and causes them to produce more oil. I've been outside with my shirt off all summer for work and no matter how much sun I've gotten it has not helped. If I go on accutane I will have to stop tanning. I hate being pale though lol.

Hmmm I haven't heard that but now you got me wondering lol. That's weird though. I hate being pale too especially with winter coming up I like to stay dark. Do you break out while you're on cycle or post cycle?

I stay on, blast and cruise. So basically all the time lol. I need to find a way to get rid of it. Its not estrogen because I use an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) and get bloods done to make sure I'm in the low normal range. I think its increased production of oil. This is why I think accutane would help.

Oh ok yea it probably would then. I've had friends take it and it cleared them up for good. I just hate the liver and dry skin side effects so I'm still so so about it. I've only taken one cycle and my back didn't break out until about a month to 2 months after I finished the cycle.

I've heard alot on b5 (pantothenic acid) lately. I just ordered some and am gonna start on it. You can't run a high dose (depending on how severe it is some ppl run up to 10mg a day but normal range is 3-5mg) for extended periods of time from what I've read but I've heard good things about it. Supposed to cut down your body's oil production. You might try it. It's cheap too. I'd definitely try it before accutane if you haven't yet. I'm having the same problem. My face started breaking out too at the end of my cycle and still is. Shit sucks.

I had a buddy who had this issue, but completely unrelated to steroids.

Hot steam shower to open up all the pores, clean it all out very well, cold rinse to close em, air dry, and he did use tanning after which helped tremendously by drying out the skin.

Ultimately it stopped though when his back turned to leather from years of it....

Thanks bro. I'll check this out first. Anything before resorting to Accutane.
