advice on leaning out/conditioning legs

so, I have fairly decent sized legs. They are my strongest body part and I put muscle on very easily. Now I am wanting to concentrate just on conditioning and leaning them down. I don't want any more size considering they aren't as symetrical to the rest of my body (my opinion)

Any advice on how to train my legs to meet my goal? I usually train fairly heavy because I have strong legs...perhaps just lighter weight and high reps??

I had assumed that sprinting would only contribute to size in legs.
Every spinter that I've seen has had very large legs, but powerful.

Wouldn't longer distance running be more beneficial than sprinting? It would overtrain and burn some of the muscle

For me sprinting has always added size, but keeping cardio at 130-150 bpm has worked very well with overall leaning out.
