i had shoulder surgery 2 months ago and still have a long road till i can lift upper body so ill have to go all legs..
what would be a good list of nothing but legs.
5X5?
so far Ive been doing leg press, leg extension, leg curl, calf raises, and abs workouts. what else can i throw in the mix?

smith machine front and back squats, smith machine lunges, ab/adduction, and anykind of hip flexor and extensor work you can manage?
what did you have done? i'm 7 months post-op from a 9-3 labrum slap tare along with infra and supraspinatus tares. still can't squat, but my bench and deadlift are comming along. start using that shoulder as soon as possible benching with a broom stick, doing light shrugs, light curls and press downs, rows, and anything else you can handle to try to get back into a regular training routine. but take it real easy for a while, even if you're feeling good keep things light.
hope that helps some,
Walker

thanks man, i ended up having a labrum slap tear and removal of damaged cartilage, not sure on all the names of it, but they put in 7 screws, he said the labrum was completely torn off. right now holding a laptop is about the extend of carrying things im doin.

damn man. makes my surgery look like nothing lol i only got 5 screws with wire around the labrum, it was completely shredded off the bone, from the pictures i saw it looked like a worn pair of jeans that frayed off.
what realy helped me, especialy with building the muscles back up and range of motion was doing stretchers and passive stretching. stretchers are kind of like a v-grip lat pull but the cable isn't right above you, its out in front of you some so you can let you shoulders stretch out. when ur feeling up to it, try those with something light (i started at 10 lbs and am up to 110 now).

ya they put that string shit wrapped around the cartilage and muscle also. i have no idea why they take pictures of that stuff, they were gross. when did you start doing resistance training with it?

i started the day i got out of my sling. but when i started i was benching with a broom stick handle, deadlifting the bar, curling 5 lbs., etc.... i had to start right back at square one with everything. and today (about 30 minutes ago actualy) is the first time i have been able to get under a bar to squat. the hardest part is going to be being patient with it. get a set of bands (especialy the minis and monster minis) from Jump Stretch and use those for press downs and rows to get started. the ATs here at school waited about 1-2 weeks to have me doing any kind of rotator and delt work, but i was strecthing almost every day even while in my sling.

you are performing well and also going in good direction..
But you should start running in the morning.. You must start it either in a very low distance... it will help you a lot..
