ALT Level - Reason to be concerned?

I've been watching my liver levels. After seeing that my ALT was 55 a while back I upped my dose of NAC from 1200mg a day to 1800mg a day. At last check my AST was at 26.

I just checked my liver levels again yesterday:

ALT 51 30-65 U/L

AST 31 15-37 U/L

That's with a higher dose of NAC. I haven't seen much movement in my ALT, and my AST seems to a bit higher. Do I have any reason to be concerned with the slightly elevated numbers. They are within the range, but higher in the range. I do take quite a few vitamins/supplements, and I have been on Tamoxifen to combat any sign of gyno that was developing, which is now gone thankfully. DHEA was elevating my estrogen. I've since stopped taking DHEA and my estrogen levels have come back down.

Tamoxifen is metabolized by the liver. Maybe you need to lower the dosage or take a break.

I would go through all the supplements you are taking and assess the ones that are metabolized by the liver. Ask yourself if you really need to be taking them. A lot of times supplements are not necessary.

I wouldn't be alarmed by your liver numbers, but given that you have had problems in the past I would try to ease the stress on it.

How about alcohol? How much of that do you consume on an average week?

I probably have 3 or 4 drinks on Sat and Sunday. That's an average. Maybe one day will be higher for instance if I have some Bloody Mary's starting on Sunday, and a few drinks in the evening. Saturday may have a couple drinks in the evening too. Primarily vodka, and I don't over do it. I don't drink at all during the week. My supplement list off the top of my head is as follows.

This is every day:

Calcium - 1200mg - Calcium level was low at 600mg trying to raise them(Possibly also low, because Magnesium is low)
Magnesium 800mg-1000mg - At this dose my magnesium level is at 1.8mg/dL, so yes this is necessary. If I don't have enough magnesium I can pre-atrial fibrillation
COq10 - 100mg 2x a day
Selenium - 100mcg 2x a day
Vitamin D - 5000iu
Micronized Pregnenolone - 50mg
Saw Palmetto Berry - 585mg 3x a day
Zinc - 50mg
DIM - 100mg 2x a day
Vitamin E - 400iu
Calcium d-Glucarate- 1500mg 2x a day (I use this for estrogen control. It's suggested by my TRT doc over Arimidex)
CLA - 3g 3x a day
Probiotic - 1x a day

BCAA's - 20g-30g a day
EAA - 20g a day
Creatine 10g-15g a day

I think that is everything

Cut out the drinks for a while and see if that helps. And research the supplements to see which ones tax the liver. Wikipedia is a good source to see how drugs are metabolized and excreted.
