Always feel low, kinda feel like I have low dopamine and serotonin

Based on what I have read, I feel as though I have BOTH low dopamine and low serotonin, does anyone else feel this way?

I have pretty much lost all zest for life, anxious alot, in a haze/fog, nothing excites me in a fun way and I am rarely ever happy. The only time I feel 'normal' is when I am either drunk or high and it's kinda depressing to think about. I guess if I had a way to describe it, I'd say I just always feel low.

I was curious if any of you felt this way before testosterone replacement and if it helped at all?

Also, does anyone know what effect testosterone has on dopamine and serotonin??

TRT helped me a lot. As for dopamine and serotonin i take Ritalin(rasies dopamine) and luvox(raises seratonin) for adhd and ocd respectavely

I have felt the same way for a long time, and tried therapy and antidepressants. The antidepressants and anti anxiety meds made me into a completely different person and ruined friendships as well as turned my mood from bad to worse. I also had to deal with withdrawing from both of them, which was awful as well. I would investigate your issues a little more, get some blood work done and that will shed some light into your situation. I wish I would have taken more time before I added meds into the mix.

Look into 5 HTP and GABA supps, this will most likely help your issue. I use the Metagenics line because thats what IMT carries :)

Apparently, you feel that you've "lost all zest for life" because of low serotonin (and dopamine). Yet, there is strong evidence that both serotonin and its basic precursor, tryptophan, are linked to brain dysfunction, free radical generation, inflammation, blood vessel constriction, metabolic impairment, stress hormone release, cancer, and so forth (read supplements-and-health.com/tryptophan-side-effects.html ). This oftentimes disregarded research would propose not to raise these substances with medications or supplements -particularly longterm.
