always tired

do you sleep with the tv on, or other background noise?

do you snore? have probs breathing?

maybe you got that sleep disorder something like aphnia (i cant remember what its called but thats kinda close). my mom went in for an overnight sleep test for it a while back...

Sleep Apnea? Thats more psychological than physiological...like the others said, get checked out. Iron is your friend, you should be taking it in as much as your pumping it!

Ha! I made a funny!

doubtful he is anemic, he isnt a woman who is menstrating. And no you dont want to take loads o firon if you are a man.

How old are you. When did you notice this. Did it start after you started training, was it there before, etc. Has your diet changed. When is the lasdt time yuou got a physical. Does anyone in your family have thyroid problems? How are you sleeping. Is there anything going on in yuor life stressful at the moment (more so then usual). Is depression a possibility. Were you sick any time recently, and did this start shortly after? are you on any meds?

you need to run through these, it will help steer us in the right direction.

i think theirs 2 kinds of sleep, it takes a while once you fall asleep to get into the deep sleep that actually recharges you from what i understand. do you take anything to help you sleep? if i take codein b4 i go to sleep i wake up and feel like a fuckin zombie.

sleep apnea
n.

A temporary suspension of breathing occurring repeatedly during sleep that often affects overweight people or those having an obstruction in the breathing tract, an abnormally small throat opening, or a neurological disorder.

I would have to say that sleep apnea is much more than a psychological disorder.

It could be so many things. Sleep apnea, depression (even if you think it isn't), low testosterone (it was for me), shitty job (see depression;), AIDS (if you have this, the standard CBC blood test will show abnormalities), or something else.

Might be a good idea to see a doctor and get some bloodwork done, including CBC, comprehensive metabolic panel, free testosterone, prolactin, thyroid (tsh, free t3, free t4).

REM, Rapid Eye Movement. You have only a few cycles of this per night, and losing even 1 has been shown to decrease short term memory the next day. It fux me up bigtime if I miss a couple, there is a cycle about every 45-60 minutes IIRC.

As for sleep apnea being a mental issue, that just sounds a bit out there. Sound like something Tom Cruise would say :laugh4:

hold on i dont get it REM is that what makes you tired? and theirs cycles between the two kinds of sleep or what?

Rem is a stage of the sleep cycle. Think of it almost like the stage where your brain is getting shit in order, cleaning up, refilling the gas tanks, and making things ready for tomorrow.

Rem doesnt make you tired. But missing any of the stages of sleep or interupting them will have visible and noticable effects.
