Sometimes if they have the equipment and aren't booked with appointments, you can request double blood and they'll take you on the spot. It helps if you have a rare blood type like I do because they are always looking for that. If you make an appointment online to donate with red cross....it tells you if that location is doing double blood that day and you can choose it as an option ahead of time.
