Anderson Silva just tested positive for testosterone

This was a guy who demonized any fighter who was caught and said they should never fight again. I have crazy respect for him, but why call out a group of people when you are part of the group. Earlier it was Jon Jones who had a watered down test and low levels of testosterone. Can we just go ahead and jump to the conclusion that almost every single athlete is on some sort of performance enhancer. This country loves to see greatness, but we don't like the extremes that people have to go to to physically achieve it.

I propose that professional sports stop acting like they're really about the athletics, and acknowledge that they are legally considered entertainment. Allow athletes to openly take whatever they want to, and let the fun begin.

Top competitors will ALWAYS do what it takes to win; it's just a matter of getting caught or not. I'd be willing to bet that the reason why PED's are against the rules/law is more about the GIGANTIC cash cow that is the supplement/sports industry than anything.

If they want to regulate shit, there's always the Olympics.

My .02c :)

Yes it is partially the supplement industry, but it is also people who do not want to think that their idols are so different than them. People are looking for role models in all the wrong place, but what can you do.

I saw he also had masteron in his system.... I wouldn't think that would be the optimal drug of choice for a fighter.

A lot of UFC fighters have been getting TRT prescriptions for quite some time to allow high normal levesl of Tesosterone without being questioned. I'm assuming his must have been superphysiological to be called a failed test. We all have SHOULD Have testosterone in our body. As mentioned above Masteron was found as well. Why a UFC fighter would carry about Masteron, I have no clue. It's not a physique competition. It's a fight.

As far as letting them use whatever they want, I'm not sure they can do that. While there are legal over the counter supplements that are banned in sports, and I do believe they should not make those supplements banned, I don't think you could condone the use of products that are illegal without a prescription in the US. I guess you would just not test for them. So, you're not condoning it, but you are regulating it either.

I was trying to say exactly that, but I could not edit the title lol. Yes he had an excessively high level of test. Don't condone, but don't even bother testing. Do it IFBB style.

The people saying he is no longer great and doubting all his achievements are beyond moronic. I guess they just want to pretend that their UFC man crushes have never used gear. Sad to see how naive grown men can be when it comes to sports idols. I literally lose zero respect for a guy when they get caught doping. I am still pissed that people (The French) call out Lance Armstrong when every single cyclist dopes, but I blame society as a whole for condoning this ignorance.

I actually totally get why he chose Mast. Good strength gains while maintaining ability to make weight. It's a solid choice for competitors trying to stay within weight class ranges and endure rigorous training prior to, in his case, a fight.

As for Diaz getting nailed for pot...not sure how that's a PED (or why it would be banned) but given his social anxiety disorder I guess the case could be made.
