Anti-catabolic properties of Testosterone.?

So testosterone and other AAS increases protein synthesis and what not, but does it actually prevent muscle from being broken down for energy when you're asleep or not eating enough? Does it have something to do with cortisol?
 
it prevents you from going catabolic by speeding up the anabolic processes in your body.

Also lowers cortisol, increases IGF-1, increase glycogen uptake, increase protein synthesis, increase nitrogen retention etc etc
