my routine is squat mon. bench tues. dead fri, and some assistance thrown in. keepin reps below 8 for everything except warm ups.

Im having mental problems though :insane2: . For bench im at a point where every weak is a new PR and its overwhelming. squating and dead lifting im fine but for some reason when I bench for my working sets i seem to buckle under the weight just because i cant overcome it mentally.

I have heard that this is one thing lockouts/board presses can help with, and I would start doing those but I wont have a spotter soon and my rack doesnt have those bars that go through it for lockouts. Im trying to avoid buying another rack because ill feel stupidforbuying this one, any other ideas to help mentally overcome the weight?

yea I make progress every week until this week i went down. I think its because before I quit stregnth training for endurance shit for sports the most weight I had ever lifted was 155 i think for 1 rep. last week I put up 155 x 5 so i know ive gone past muscle memory gains and im gaining every week but not this week and I think it was because I was basically intimidated by the fact I was supposesd to lift more weight then I ever have before. Thats when I thought of trying lockouts to get me mentally used to touching that much weight but since I have no way of doing lockouts I was wondering if there are any other things I can do for the same effect. maybe chains? I just thought of that...I am confusing arent I . sorry for that.

dont expect every week to be a record breaker. sometimes you just have a bad day and thats that. are you doing the same routine every workout? maybe its time to make some changes. how is your form? make sure you bring your shoulders down and back into the bench. have your feet planted firmly on the floor. stay tight on the way down. and most of all be patient. it will come.
