Any good herbs for thinning the blood?

TESTinME

Mine's starting to get a little thick from HRT. Doc not concerned yet...but if there was something natural I could take I would like to start. Someone had a post back on elite several weeks ago about a Japanese herb and now I can't find it.

Any suggestions?

You could always "donate" blood.

I'd like to know if there is a supp as well, but I kinda doubt it, cause my doc has the same concern, and his only advice was to cut back on my weekly Test dose.

Saw Palmetto I think thins the blood out a little, but I could be confusing that with something for prostate health

Well, the T levels came in a little over the reference range on the last test (think it is due to the HCG because without HCG, I was just under). So I am cutting the test dose to 75 mg/week from 100.....

No Saw Palmetto for me. I don't believe in taking anything anything to block DHT because it raises estrogen levels and messes with sexual functioning.

I would recommend taking one St. Joseph's children's asprin per day. That will thin your blood, as well has help your prostate. I've also read it's good for the heart. Not sure about that one. This is what docs prescribe quite often for older people worried about strokes, etc...

Good luck.

Vitamin E naturally thins the blood
I am taking 800IU per day both for it's antioxidant and skin benefits as well as slight blood thinning aspects.
That's why you don't take Vitamin E and coumadin (blood thinner)

Not a big fan of NSAID's such as aspiren long term..... They can cause leaky gut syndrome and other digestive disorders....

Yes, that will help some.....but I do take a 76mg aspirin ED and still have the problem with my blood.

White willow bark,it's kinda like an herbal aspirin,it's whats used in all the OTC fat burners. Most good vitamin stores have it.

Taking a childens asprin (81mg )would be a good idea all though it can still cause a stroke ,believe it or not. It will thin the blood as well as an adult asprin. Why do you want a herb?

NSAID's (non-steroidal anti-inflamatories) like aspirin or advil are a leading cause of gastrities, leaky gut syndrome as they irrate the gut and can cause damage to the lining of the gasto-intestinal lining. I've read some books and articles by MD's on this topic....

I'd just much prefer a natural approach wherever possible to drugs.
I'd try vitamen E and ginko along with lowering my testosterone dosage before going on aspirin long term. Asprin is a great drug, but should be used sparingly in my opinion.
