Are these normal testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) tests when first getting examined?

Are these normal trt tests when first getting examined?

Hey guys,
I have an appointment to see the endo soon since my bloods came back showing low t and high prolactin. So I've had three bloods drawn from her and the first two showed very low t (1.0 on the range of 9.0-27) and a high prolactin. Mind you, my last cycle was deca 400mgs a week and test prop at 600 mgs a week. It's been almost two and a half months since I've done the run. My pct admittedly was half assed because I knew I had low t to begin with. Anyways, my question: is a bone scan and an MRI all part of the normal process of getting on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)? She's booked me in for both.

Thanks for any info guys

Not sure about the bone scan, but the MRI is because of the elevated prolactin. It's likely to rule out a pituitary gland tumor, which can cause hyperprolactinemia. Was your E2 low? That might explain a bone scan as low estradiol can cause bone density issues.

She didn't test estradiol or anything. She tested all the usual things: lh, fsh, complete blood panel, etc. I suspect I may have higher than normal estrogen, since when I'm off cycle I'm puffy, have controlled hbp, etc. I wonder why she didn't check.

Naw, like a complete dumbass I didn't get or didn't keep my labs from before so I have no baseline.
I just wondered if the MRI and the bone scan was a normal part of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) testing. MRI isn't until December 2. Gonna be on pins and needles till then. Should I do a pct and try and get my levels up? I even have caber to drop my prolactin if necessary. Just hold off until the tests and our second meeting?

Yes seeing as your showing high levels of prolactin that gives signs to a pitiuatary tumour. Which could be the reason for your low t.

So yes an MRI on your pituitary is normal.

Fuck...a tumor on my pituitary?!? Now I'm shitting my pants. I thought the low t and high p was because I did deca and just crashed my t.

Yes, MRI is normal if you appear to have secondary hypogonadism. Definitely indicated if your prolactin is high. That might be a remnant from your Deca use so I wouldn't freak out. Even if you do have a pituitary tumor, they are often noncancerous and can be removed easily by going up your nose.

Dec 2 is a long wait. When I saw my endo and he told me to schedule an MRI, I went next door and literally they said they had an opening right at that moment. 15 minutes later I was getting my MRI done. Gotta love health care in the USA.

Hard to give you good advice bro. Do you know your baseline T levels before cycling ?
It's kind of the norm to be suppressed after Deca...
The Deca could very likely be the culprit here with elevation of Prolactin...
You are not the first.
Damn bro...that T level is really low. Dangerously low.
Hope she jumps right on this to treat this.
Did she do a physical exam on you too?
Did you mention anything on cycles to her?

Any doc that tells me to come back on Dec. 2 to run more tests leaving me with extreme low T levels till then...
I will walk!
I usually give them a year of baseline blood work, including FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, Estradiol, SHBG....if that isn't enough for them to point me into a possible direction after the first appointment....I walk

What should a person do if he doesn't have a year's worth of baseline bloodwork?

Shit, he has a rep power of 9, sorry Apollon.

LOL! I have to admit, I am about to head off to bed and thought my day was finally over. This post DEFINITELY has put a happy end to my day's affairs. :D

Don't freak out DD55, she's just trying to get baseline values and is doing a GOOD thing by checking your pituitary. Most docs would just offer you androgel and send you on your way. You should request estradiol though for your next panel. Oh, and I'm sure by the time December rolls around - any possible issues from your cycle will be looooooong gone naturally.

My .02c :)

Noncancerous? Good. I did a google search and they said 20% of the pop probably have them but they go undisguised. Didn't know that about the extraction, however. I'll just tell everyone in goin in for a nose job. Thanks for easing my mind some.

Yeah they're crazy low. She did do a physical exam before the bloods. The high prolactin in almost sure was deca. I did aromasin but didn't do caber because I was seeing no prolactin sides and didn't think my dose was high enough to warrant its use. I felt great. Now, not so much.

I'm just cringing thinking bout that 1 Nmol/L bro....
that's 28 ng/dl of T.T.
Since she is treating you, not much you can do.
My advice would have ben run a hard PCT...
but your numbers on the labs will be all screwy....not a good idea.
I'm sure you look in shape and all...did she comment on your physique, is she looking at you suspicious???
