Are we in the decline as a society?

It seems to me that after the "Y2K" generation... it has gone worse.. I have a bunch of younger friends and cousins as well as older and it seems that the younger generation just seems to have a warped idea of what responsibility is and what is important to get ahead in life. Most want to jump from point A to point Z without going through B,C,D etc... Is it just me?? I am part of the Y2K generation and i just hit my 30 year mark this year... I dunno just ranting I guess.

Its been this way for decades... All the older folks refuse to let go of the nostalgic "great" past, but every generation says the same thing...

The old folks are the only things holding this nation together. If not for some of the preexisting infrastructure by the "Good ol boys" this nation would have already bellied up. Though now all that infrastructure is on fire and melting.

I am 25 years old, and I hate this generation, and for the most part American society. Every girl I talk to one of the questions that "qualify her" for dating is "Would you be willing to leave America someday?". Because quite honestly our education system blows, our medical system blows, and even our jobs blow. Even if you do have a job, your worked until your burnt out and then tossed aside. The quality of living is better in other nations, and average work weeks are smaller. I have African immigrants that work under me that cannot wait to go back to their country because its better, and they tell me they are not sure why they came. False advertising of the American dream.

Used to be a gung-ho patriot kinda guy, but in the last 5 years I have grown to realize quite a bit. America is all kinds of messed up, but it does a superb job of telling us we have it best just because we have ample amounts of Cable TV and twinkies. As well as jobs where you work your entire life making someone else rich, but getting "Decent" money. America is the only nation where its CEO's shit on the employees like it does. Do some research, I think American CEO's average 415x the income of the average employee, and in every other nation it tops around 15-20 times the income.

I tell people face the facts, America's golden age is over. Now its like an overused slut. Not really fun, but technically still works, but chances are your going to get sick from it.

^^^^ Well hit the road if you don't like it here and take your friends that don't like it.If you want to make more money work harder and change jobs.Don't hold against somebody because they worked they way up and making a shitload of money.

Oh and yes to the op we are in a decline because people don't want to work hard and want everything handed to them.I own a business and you cant hardly hire anybody because they think they are worth gold.We can thank the government for a lot of it handing out checks and medical.

Yes the United States is in decline. At the bottom of this decline is the rest (or majortity) of the world.
Many countries Ive vistited love to point out that the United States has no culture. For what they understand
as culture,(music, food, art) they are correct to an extent. To the extent that they know the USA, which is not at
all.......But back to my point. The United States has, had a culture of honesty. Yes it has died in public service
and in much business. But it still lives amongst the people, most people at least. But honesty is in decline in the
United States, and this is dangerous to all aspects of the American way of life.

Its not that simple. Working hard and getting to the top in America means slitting throats. Some of us, even entrepreneurs, want to have a clear conscious while we do our thing.

I am going to school for my Doctorate...I will be fine, in America, outside of America, and wherever I go. That and I seem to be lucky in a sense that everywhere I do go to work I get rapidly promoted because of my work ethics, intelligence, competence, etc.

Its not about working harder either, I see some people who work harder than you probably will your entire life, but are limited by age, education, origins and will never see as much as someone who started off with everything handed to them and placed into college only to study and party and get a job as a VP at their daddies company after. Also I even have employees who bust their @sses like crazy, but I know they will never go too much farther due to limitations intellectually. This is why I believe more wealth at the bottom, less up top.

Hell I know Mexicans I who I would gladly send 50 Americans down there to work and take just that one Mexican up here. Because they know hard work. Americans usually do not know hard work.

And yes I am hitting the road when the time is right. Australia or Germany, unless something else changes by then.

Doesnt change the facts. America's future is being a crap hole. Just remember when that time comes, you stay here and dont go pollute another nation.

I am an American in spirit, but I do hate this land and its people and government. I do not hate any individuals, but I hate what this nation stands for now, what it has become, and how the average person is utterly useless thanks to them mindlessly doing the corporate grind. All around the world people can work less and live better lives, and receive medical care equal if not better to ours, and usually free college education.

Even African immigrants I know(some who work for me) are saving up to leave and go home back to Africa because life was better there.

IF you think America is so damn great, your fooling yourself. In ways you will likely not understand until 5 or 10 years from now.

Sex, drugs, and Rockefeller eh?

EDIT: If you do not know me, you will get used to me soon enough lol. I seem to represent two sides that are opposing(Contradictory) but all I really do is express and overview of the macro and raw elements. In the end, half of what I say is theory, the other half is philosophy.
