Are Your Vitamins Working?

according to this it wouldn't make a difference:

Absorption

Supplements need to be absorbed to be effective. Minerals can be chelated with amino acids to significantly increase absorption, but this expensive process is commonly avoided by most brands. If a tablet does not dissolve properly, it can upset your stomach and its nutrients will not be absorbed. Most supplements are densely compressed, up to 350 psi (pounds per square inch) in order to get as many ingredients as possible into one tablet. Unfortunately, your stomach cannot dissolve these highly compressed tablets entirely, so a majority of most supplements are excreted, depriving you of the promised nutritional benefits.

Update

got the multis I ordered from - http://www.clinicians-choice.com/ - and first thing I did was the absorption test. pill completely dissolved in about 25 minutes. very impressed. I emailed the company and asked some questions and got this reply.

I am not familiar with any independent studies, other than those conducted
by Consumer Labs. Just know that only 5% of store bought Multi's dissolve
in the appropriate time for complete absorption. Another thing to mention
as well, the other 95% of multi's sold contain fillers such wood shavings,
tar & shellac; don't contain what is claimed on the label, and very likely
contain lead, aluminum, mercury, and cadmium, which can be harmful to your
health, and possibly deadly.

did the absorption test to Living Green Liquid-Gel Multi.......gel cap go soft and was like chewing gum after 30 minutes. Some of the brown contents inside the gel cap came out but not all. what did come out was clumped, don't really know what to make of it.

i heard essentials by USANA is the best multi that absorbs everything the best. Also tested on absorbtion although i dont remember the site.

Maybe thats why they tell you to take a certain dosage, because they know some of the supplement will just get excreted so if your body only absorbs 50% of the tablet thats why they tell you to take 2. Just an idea I dont know for sure.
