Bad Reaction to Test Prop

Update: Had the same reaction second time. Details in post #8.

Update 2: Well, everyone was right. It was all in my head. I've done two more shots since my last post and both went great. Definitely getting more comfortable with it as I go.

Hi all,

So today was the beginning of my first cycle, first time shooting anything. I decided to go with test prop, which I know many will say not to use for one's first cycle, but I didn't make this thread to debate that.

Here's what happened during my injection:

Followed all the procedures from the Injection Tips thread on this forum. Stuck it in (right glute)- was shaking a lot and the angle could've been more direct but overall not bad. Didn't even feel the needle and didn't feel any pain from the prop. I was pushing pretty slowly (~35 seconds total time) through a 1 inch 23g needle.

However, about halfway through the 1.5 ml I started to feel flushed. My head was swimming, started sweating a bit, got a bit queasy. I finished up the injection and ran to the bathroom with phone in hand, just in case. The symptoms went away after 5 minutes. Now I'm fine, if not a little shaken up.

So, anyone more experienced know what happened? I've heard of test flu, but people seem to say that it comes the next day or so and lasts much longer. Was it a reaction to the propionic acid? Is it okay to keep using it? Will I have this reaction every time?

The prop is Optimal Labs, which seems to be pretty highly regarded on the net.

Thanks in advance for your help

u scared yourself shitless. calm down you will be fine. as for the shaking it may cause pip tomorrow. also i would use 1.5 inch for glutes

As others have stated those symptoms seem to be all in your head.Test flu will happen with any test not just prop. Just relax and focus on what you are doing and don't forget to breath, you will be fine. Something similar happen to me on my first quad shot, you will be fine.

As everyone said you psyched yourself out. You know this too as you were shaking before injection. I was like this my 1st few times also, kinda felt like you were gonna pass out. You'll get over it with experience.

As for the flu.... just so you know what it WOULD be like...... about 48 hours after pinning you will be hot, sweating, shivering with cold spells, trouble sleeping, and will be tired. You may have mild to extreme irritation around injection site... but this could also be an infection.

I never heard of someone actually puking or having the runs from the prop, but I would not be suprised if a more sensitive person did.

its all in ur head man, or you nicked a vein. either way your fine. how old are you?

25 years old.

I guess it probably was in my head. Now that I think about it, I reacted pretty similarly to my first IV.

I don't know how dense the nerves/veins are in the glute, but it is possible that even though I only got air when I aspirated, my shaking (which was pretty bad, like I said) put the needle into one of those?

Either way, thanks for all the responses. Makes me feel much more assured about my next shot. Anyway, I'm off to eat a ton of food.

You were just being a biiotch. No shame, it happens. Never to me but some people basically have a panic attack while pinning the first time. I've heard of people passing out first time.

So, I just did my second pin and the same thing happened.

This time I was much more calm. My heart rate was up a bit, but no shaking or anything. Needle went in easily (1.5" to the left glute this time), but about halfway through I got that same feeling. I held off as long as I could, then with about .5 ml left I just had to push it in, get it out and go lay down. It wasn't as bad this time, either because I had experienced it before or because I laid down. It went on for about 5 minutes.

One thing I forgot to mention that happened both the first time and this time was that after a few minutes had gone by and the wooziness went away, I got this noise in my ears. Kinda like a seashell was held up to them, but it was "buzzier" and got louder for a minute or so then went away. Is this indicative of anything specific?

I guess there's still the possibility that it's all in my head, but I'm a little doubtful now. I was pretty calm this time and at least on the surface level wasn't expecting the reaction again. Would there be any harm in continuing the injections? Should I try a different vial?

Your ears were ringing due to "tinnitus", it's all in your head. A few more shots and you'll quit having panic attacks.

Happens to most the first time. I thought I was gonna pass out and my wife would find me on the floor with a needle in my ass. You'll get use to it. Should be fine after 1 or 2.

I seen a buddy do the same thing, your kind of turned in an awkward position trying to see what you are doing and holding your breath which combined causes this. Being that you only have one inch pins you mine as well try your delt. Its an easier angle to pin, just breath while doing so and I guarantee you this wont happen again.

I didnt read anything about you aspirating? Remember that IS the most important part. Also, the 1" is going to be just fine for the glutes (according to your stats; heigh/weight). The good news is the anxiety will decrease with every shot that you do. There are little things you can do to help the oil go in a little easier...Heat it up (hair dryer), take a warm shower before injection, find another injection site thats easier to pin (chest/quads). G luck!

Yeah it's in your head - soon enough you'll be sticking the thing in without any worries at all.

I came out of the bathroom with a syringe sticking out of my shoulder and sat down at the dinner table - then asked my wife is she seen my missing syringe? :D

She wasn't to happy with me - but my point is, it gets easier. :)

I should also mention - you should aspirate - as I have had an experience where I've hit a vein twice in a row.

Reaction to prop

I read on someones post to drain infected areas, I do in my shoulders, I wait months before I hit them again the same thing happens. Someone said inject BA, I dont have the slightest idea of what that is or how much to use. Is there anything I can do to make it permanetly go away? It doesnt hurt just swells with infection, usually about 2ccs worth. Any suggestions? I am new to this site but not to lifting or using "vitamins"
