Beginner Needs Advice

Hello Guys, first of all I would like to introduce myself as a new member. I have been working out for just over a year now and am looking to kick it up to the next level. I train 5 days a week, chest/back/legs/shoulders/arms Monday through Friday and have the weekend off.

I am 6ft 4 and weigh in at 210lbs.
I have always been very skinny, and even when I follow a strict diet always find it hard to put on weight and mass. (I started out at 204lbs).

I was hoping to get some info from some of you experienced guys, I have been researching use of anabolics for about 2hours a day for the last 4 months by reading several threads and information pages.

Now, like I say, I'm looking to speed up my gains, but didn't know if at the age of 24 and working out for just over a year whether it would be a good idea? I wasn't looking at getting 'huge' super quick, more speeding up my current gains. I didn't want to make it too obvious to friends and family that I was on the 'juice', but I could good put on a solid 10-15lbs of muscle in say 10-12 weeks I would be happy. So here are the possibilities I was thinking about. (sorry for such a long post).

1st Idea was to run a dianabol on cycle. (I no, I no, all the beginners say this). I am aware you do not keep your gains, even with a very good PCT, but from what I have heard an researched, it gives you monster strength on cycle, which supposedly stays with you after post cycle therapy (pct)? This means with more strength maybe I could push heavier weights than now and get bigger that way? I know most people would probably flame this, and I have read DaDawgs thread on Oral Onlys, which was a good read.

The 2 idea, is running a low dose of test? From what I have read test should be the base of every cycle, and most people recommend people starting out on 500mg a week. If I were to half that and have 250mg a week would that still be beneficial? Like I say, I didn't want to get too big too fast becuase of work, friends and most importantly family.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks.

250mg would not benefit you enough to cycle. Try getting on a good bulking diet first, put on 10-20 more lbs naturally, or more. Then come back to possibly cycling.

Cheers mate. I do appreciate it, but like I say I am an extremely hard gainer, even when dirty bulking I can't put anything on. Diet is something I am extremely focused on as my friend is a body builder and says that diet is more important than what you can lift. So I'm pretty sure my diet is down, just not genetically right for building mass maybe?

If I was to start a cycle now, could it cause off results or health issues because of my weight and length of time training?

Like I say, I'm more looking to speed up the process rather than look like a beast, though someday maybe I will look to up my game even more.

You've only been lifting a year.. put in some time bro.. you gained 6 lbs in a year? You're not doin somethin right. Your diet or training is off.

Cheers Trainwrek. I thought they were shit gains too lol. Hence why I'm looking into this as a possibility. Training wise I do 45-60mins a day. Different muscle group everyday from mon-fri. I eat 6 high protein meals a day, meat, fish, brown rice/pasta, sweet potatoes, lots of salad. Then snacks are fruit and veg plus nuts. I don't see why I'm not gaining, like I said, maybe I'm not built for it?

Would starting a cycle now not help me with this? Is there a reason why you should be lifting for a certain time and weigh a certain amount? Sorry for the thousand questions, just need as much info as possible. At the end of the day, if you guys say it's a bad idea then it more than probably is, just looking for reasons really.

Many thanks again.

It usually consists of the following.

Monday Chest : Flat Bench Press, Incline Bench, Dumbell Press and cable crossovers.

Tuesday Back : Lat Pulldowns, Row, bent over Dumbell row, dead lifts.

Wednesday Legs : Squats, leg press, calf raises.

Thursday Shoulders : Military Press, Dumbell shoulder press, side raises.

Friday Arms : Barbell curl, close grip EZ bar curl, dips and overhead extension.

Then I throw in abs every now and then, no cardio.

I would definately look into nutrition more, but I have done some extensive research and everyone I talk to in the gym say I'm eating everything right including my supplements (PHD synergy ios7). I think I'm just crap at gaining mass. Don't get me wrong my strength does increase and I can keep up with some of the 'bigger boys'. Just want to start gaining some proper mass.

Would a cycle be an option? Specific reasons if possible guys. Thanks in advance and thanks for the comments already, is greatly appreciated.

I would also like to add I have an extremely physical/tiring job. Could this be why my gains aren't great? Literally on my feet from the second I wake to the second I sleep, probably have 8 hours sleep a night.

Cheers 3J, I did start a new post on the diet part of the forum. I read your thread on 'Free Diet Advice'. But if I'm 100% honest I didn't really understand alot of it. Any advice from you would be great though dude.

steroidology.com/forum/diet-forum/619278-new-member-need-dietary-advice.html is the new thread I started. I think I'll leave the AAS for a good while and get some good gains naturally. Cheers for the advice so far guys!
