Belt usage

My gym's full of fools who'll use a belt to squat on the toilet seat. They use straps for getting that pop out the fridge too.

Its just like juice. Shouldn't be touched until you're in the know. Hell, I haven't even received my belt and I'm tryin to find out how to wean myself off as I hit the progressively hearvier poundages.

Sorry bro, guess that came out too fast. Guess I am used to seeing most people in my gym use belts improperly to lift heavier weight.

Guess I have always thought you want to build your core strength, especailly in your back because other exercises that you don't use a belt for could injure you if you don't have the same core strength. I guess that falls under the category of improper belt usage
I might be worng. Does that make better sense? If not, I will pardon myself from this convo.

rj use you mulliugan. :D

but to be honest if you know you limitations then i see no reason, barring injury, to wear a belt for any type of deads. now if you going for a pr or are close to meet time or at a meet. then by all means use it. i choose not wear one just so that i can hit my core harder. can i pull more with one on? sure can. but for normal training i dont go as heavy as i can every week. in fact i never max out til its meet time or very close. the reason i wear one on heavy squats is because i am focusing more on hitting my legs than core strength. a belt will add weight to your squats as does wraps. but this is what i do and some react differntly to difernt circumstances. what ever you comfy with go with it. :D
