Looking at ordering one just to get the feel for it, nothing fancy. I'm not gonna be competing. Just because I have some shoulder problems and want to be able to bench still. I am doing lots of recovery work for my shoulders but I want to make sure I never fuck myself again.

Currently lookin at this one http://www.inzernet.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=01_ST_BLAST

Because I'm cheap.

Anyways i notice that the only measurment you do is chest. Is that just fully relaxed or what? And will I need any other alterations once I get it?

Do you have someone to train with and help you put it on? Are you going to get a DVD or instruction in order to learn how to put it on, and use it? It will take several sessions for the shirt to even break in. I got mine oversized, since I wasn't going to compete in that particular shirt.

With powerlifter form shoulders shouldn't be much of an issue IMO. Power CGs hit my chest still so you could try those as well.

Inzer's measurements kinda suck and stuff never fits right..plus dont order from their web site
use irongladiators.com

if you are looking to jsut protect your shoulders make sure the shirt is oversixed otherwise youll never get anything to touch and you wont be working your chest much at all..

also another place to look is ebay..every so often they have shirts for sale

a titan fury or inzer rage should allow you to keep the same groove. I would find better ways to support your shoulders than wearing a bench shirt though. learn a powerlifting bench setup and that should take a good deal of your shoulder pain away.

A little shoulder pain and the problems Mr Tate seems to have are slightly different. :)

I do plan on competing some day, so I figured maybe getting used ot wearing a shirt sooner than later would be good. And it's not simply shoulder pain. Basically I over the pat two years both of my shoulders have been completely useless at different times. My doc says that I may need to get surgery to shave off extra bone growth, and I don't really wanna do that.

I have been trying to bench PL stlye, perhaps I should get some videos up.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

if your truly thinking of lifting heavy on a reglar basis / competeing then spend a few extra bucks , dont go with a blast because they offer VERY limited support compared to todays new generation of shirts and the blast tends to stretch out / lose support much faster imo than the titans/rages/phenoms/metals/etc.
as for the setup pull those shoulders down and back as far as hamanly possible AND LEAVE THEM THERE until the bar is racked , combine that with a big arch and bringing the bar lower [ highest point of the chest ] will drastically shorten the range of motion of your bench press and take a lot of shoulder out of the movement , be aware this style really stresses lockout/triceps which means until your lockout/triceps catch up you may have some transition troubles .

Pushing your traps into the bench while setting up your arch is another one of many steps into getting the stroke shortened. Setup is really something of an art that requires practice.
