Whole blood donations is what most of us do. Just go every 56 days. If that is not getting your hematocrit low enough let us know and we can share some potential tricks with you.
Platelet apheresis is by far the most effective, but also the most time consuming. I drop 2% on average every donation and can do it every seven days if needed. It just sucks to have to sit in a chair for 1-2 hours, although my location does offer movies to watch.
Otherwise, just hit the single reds every 56 days as mentioned. An easy way to gauge your progress is to pay attention to the hemoglobin value they take as the pre-screen process before they strap you in. Multiply that value by 3, and that's your hematocrit.
