Best place to pin, and tips to prevent swelling

I pinned my middle quad muscle and My leg got so swollen that I couldn't make out my knee, I would say my leg got over 50 percent bigger. Its been 5 days since that happened I can see my knee bu my quad is still past my knee.. where can I pin that this won't happen and are then any tips to prevent this from happening again.
 
I am on a pissy mood. I need to check my E2. Nothing to see here.

OP: Here's a tip; NEVER EVER EVER EVER pin ANYWHERE but the vastus lateralis when doing legs. Only the well-versed and brave dare venture elsewhere. If you think pinning the femoris erectus (middle) was bad, poking a hole in your calf and putting a couple milliliters of oil there is downright hell on earth. ;)

Note: Pinning the vastus medialis (inner-most thigh) is actually dangerous, as you may inadvertently hit an artery. Recommended sites are such for a very good reason. :)

http://www.spotinjections.com is a great reference, although they go a bit beyond what I consider novice areas.

Ya I agree with the comment on the legs :). Ive hit the tear drop a couple times and STAY AWAY FROM THAT!!!!

Also stay away from calves too, yeeeowzah!!

The best places to start are glutes delts and quads. Unforunately there no way to ensure a perfect injection every time. Even after doing 1000s of injection I still get a bad one now and then.

Make sure top of vials and pin sites are sterile. Dont jiggle the needle around once its in you. Dont shove the oil in to fast. Those are a few things that will help you.
 
i hit the upper quad with no problems. For me a 25g works with no swelling, but anything lower and i get a bit of pain and leakage. massaging helps too. i also like to work legs after an injection to help disperse it.
 
I've heard of people warming up their gear is that a good Idea? yeah I used http://www.spotinjections.com and watched a guy inject where I did I guess he was a professional. its been 5 days and I can actually see my knee now but I can't make out any of the muscles in my leg. should I do another injection today even though I can barely walk?

Warming just thins the oil, which makes it go a little faster. Don't pin a sore location, that makes it worse. Try delts or pecs imo.
 
I've been pinning glutes only since when I was a teen and nothing ever happened, maybe having a man booty helps
