I've been getting mine buying it myself, and paying for everything else (tests etc).. I was wondering if anyone has a prescription or whats the best way to get my dr to do it?

I take 2 injections weekly along with hcg injection 2 weekly for the last year and a half

I was thinking just going in and presenting them with I wanted to try and get my insurance to cover it? and that I have all this experience doing it myself?

anyone have any luck?

The thing is my previous Dr. had prescribed me testosterone but she wanted me to do in office injections 200mg once every 2 weeks, I got terrible spikes and felt worse than when I started, so I went with IMT and been doing what I posted above went from 235 test to 815 and I have been feeling great, but the price is just getting to much to pay for out of pocket since we added a few more expenses to our life.

Probably would have been a little more helpful if you stated that you're a current patient of IMT as it sounded like you were buying testosterone and HCG from the black market, and doing it yourself.

Thing is, you DO have a prescription, so you should have a precedence set that many docs will have less issues with continuing. The biggest hurdle that you will likely face is that IMT has a better than standard level of care, so convincing your GP to prescribe HCG may be difficult as HCG use in men is off-label. (I think it's still listed for use as a fertility drug for women)

I wish I had a canned speech for you that works, but I have a doctor that refuses to prescribe ANYTHING but testosterone when it comes to TRT, so I've had to take matters into my own hands until I can find a suitable replacement. There are tons of papers on pubmed that illustrate the benefits of HCG for TRT patients; the tricky part is having a doctor that's actually willing to read them.

My .02c :)
