Okay, how many days u guys work on your traps
usually worked on my traps on just shoulder day ( 1 day a week), and doing light weight at high reps ( 225)
now this week up to 405lbs at 10 reps 3 sets, then i drop set to 315 ( 1 set), 225 ( 1 set) 130 ( 1 set), wanna really start to focus alittle more on my traps during the week
how many times u guys workout your traps during the week and what do u find the best way to build that nice bulky look to the traps

I find dumbbells and really rolling the shoulders back and SQUEEZE and HOLD works best for me......my genetic potential for sick traps is shit so I hit them less , with less weight, not over-train them. One day per week or I go backwards on size.

There is alot of androgen receptors in the neck area so when worked the neck and traps will usually respond very well while on AAS.

Heavy barbell shrugs (Front and rear)
If you gym does not have heavy dumbbells then do what I do and pick up a pair of these

If you load them up with 35's you can make each one 280 pounds + the weight of the handle. That way when your gym only has 120 pound dumbbells you can still make free-weights challenging and heavy.
Cable face pulls using the double rope attachment and pulling towards your face also hit rear delts.

There is alot of things to do.

I am not old 22 right now so I have as much weight as possible type mindset always try to increase my lifts more and more but make sure I accomplish 8 reps or more on the heaviest set. I will never sacrifice form for weight though.

If I was older I would have the less is more type attitude and of course use less weight with higher reps. I mix it up though I will not follow a strict routine I incorporate many different styles and try to change from week to week.

2x a week for me I don't see a reason to work them out any more, they get a light workout on shoulder days as well.

I discovered some years ago that my traps respond better to upright rows than shrugs for whatever reason. narrow grip upright rows to be specific. you have to keep the elbows flaired to during the motion. gives a good telephone pole type neck look too. just watch the tendinitis in the forearms, straps help. don't need a ton of weight either with good form.

Kind of funny Mike, we get along and share the same opinions on a lot of shit, and if I ever learn how to use the new camera I bought for the family for Christmas, fucking $2000 piece of shit, actually its me not the camera, I'll post some picks because we are built almost identical by the looks of things. I'm only 6', but youre 6 years older than me, so maybe I'll grow a little taller yet...lol

thinking of working on my traps 2-3 times a week, think that is overkill?

3x a week sounds like overkill. Every 3-4 days sounds okay to me. I work mine once a week on shoulder day.

125lbs dumbbells (wish my gym had heavier) - 30 rep x 5 sets - 1-2 sec hold at the top
500lbs front barbell - 8-10 rep x 5 sets - 1-2 sec hold at the top and max hold the last rep

Once I started going heavier, my traps and neck blew up. I would love to do behind the back shrugs but my butt is too big, making it way too awkward.

i agree with harnold on the upright rows too. i do those every now and then but usually just hit barbell and dumbell shrugs hard as fuck once a week. heavy sets of 20 with a pause at the end of each set.

my traps blew up with upright rows ill agree with the guys post from earlier. idk what it is but i get wayyyyy more out of the with good form than putting a crap ton of 45s and shrugging it. traps are 2nd best part of my body and i never work em often. use to do them a bunch tho and they blew up no lie.

It's not overkill but if you're on steroids protein synthesis is elevated longer so you can have longer breaks between workouts (IE less frequency)
