Blood Pressure = High. Please Help.

UODUCKS,

My doctor is a middle aged, pretty aggressive doctor, he's not treating me for anything yet because im only 28 or in his eyes still young. Trust me he's the first one to write a script to get a health issue under control.

I wouldn't call this doctor 'aggressive' if he's going to let a BP that is consistently 135-140 over 80-90 slide by saying some people just run a little hot. That mentality isn't consistent with current guidelines for medical practice. And for him to suggest to you that it doesn't need to be better controlled just because you're only 28 isn't giving you the best advice either.

A BP that is significantly and consistently higher than the established parameters for hypertension has already begun to do slow damage. Its just not apparent in your case yet.

So my question is: Is there anything i can to do trick the blood pressure test... to temporarily give a reading of "normal"???

I don't think this question was really answered. One thing you can do to lower your blood pressure naturally without resorting to any tricks is to look at what you're eating. Another contributor to high BP is salt, so go immediately on a low sodium diet.

Avoid adding salt to your food at the table, and use only minimal amounts of it when cooking. Try using a non-MSG salt substitute instead sometimes. Also watch out for restaurant food thats loaded with the stuff. Read the labels on everything you buy and you might be surprised at how much salt they put in food. This includes diet drinks, energy drinks, sodas, protein drinks, canned soups, cured meats, tinned meat, and whole host of other things.

You need a little sodium, but if you reduce the amount of it in your diet in can and will make a difference in your blood pressure.

AAS increase your blood pressure, and if you're trying to bulk you can eat clean most of the time but when you're trying to 5,000 calories a day you're gonna eat dirty once in a while which would include high sodium foods. My doctor would simply tell me to try to changing my life style first...........jeez.

how about using a Aromatase inhibitor (AI) and dropping the test bit there is no need to take that much your body can't use it and it is converting to estrogen and water retention.

Yeah, but you're not the OP and your doctor isn't his. Chill out, man.

I looked up what the AMA considers to be "normal" BP and told my Doc that is where I wanted my BP to be.

He looked at me and said "Sure, I can get your BP that low if you don't mind passing out when you stand up".
And he continued to inform me that the larger you are, the more your BP will be.

Shoot, where do you live? It is so uncommon to hear of a doctor having any semblance of common sense. At least in my experience, the doctors in my area would have put on you on bp meds and then when you died said "I don't know why he died, maybe because his bp was too high."

Speaking of blood pressures.... Actually did mine today at shoppers (cvs in the states) -- I know they're not accurate seeing as it had my heart rate at 63 and I ended up checking it 3x after that and it was really 68.. But, mine was extremely low .. 113 over 60.. I don't know if that's a bad thing or not. But even when I was younger, always that low.

I've always had chest pains, usually when I am stressed/anxiety - Heart rate will increase... I've seen a heart specialist last year. I've had lung tests, ECG, EKG - every test, even the stress test, doctor said, 'You seem fine, you may have asthma' - I do however have a puffer - I get weezy sometimes, doctor never said anything about my BP. When I was younger doctor said I may have a P.A.T - basically irregular heart rate/beat -- I think it's common but...
Over the years, nothing has ever been said about my BP...
Now, that I went to go check it today; I'm all worried that, that I'm gonna crock in my sleep...

Should I see a doctor ASAP?

According to this chart you're still in the normal range - Blood Pressure Chart - Normal Blood Pressure Range
It suggests some foods you can take if you drop below that range into low. I'm not recommending to or not to see a doc as I'm not a medical professional, that's your call. If you're concerned enough then might as well.
