Body for life?

Hi i was wondering if anyone had used the body for life programme desined by bill phillips, and what results u had after the 12 weeks and whether you felt it was any good for size and mass gain, thanks in advance Neil

His program is inconsistent with what I believe so I'd avoid it. If you are looking for a new program the "doggcrap program" in my opinion, is the best.

I wouldn't do it cause its just too mcuh for me and my bodytype (in regards to overtraining). I have however seen many people in my gym do it (when it was big) and did well, but none of them gained any size, just dropped BF and leaned up.

Try checking out PB's sticky at the top of the page. Or some of iron addicts workouts, which includes doggcraps stuff as Golgo mentioned.

neil, its a good program for beginners to get you on the right path. you won't gain much size or strength with it if you're an experienced lifter, but its a good place to start if the whole idea of diet and training seems a bit overwhelming (as it often does to beginners).

Body for Life is for people who currently do nothing but eat ice cream. I have his book.

i figure its like people who only cuircut train: its a good start, there's nothing inherantly wrong with it, and for the beginner it will set them on the right track without investing so much time into it that they lose interest. eventually though, they'll have to get serious.

ok cool, cheers for the input, so can any 1 recommend, a good mass/strengh building programme i can hit the gym around 4/5 times per week. I am quite thin dont know if that will make a diffrence 2 the kind of programme i will need, thanks in advance Neil.

Good enough for people starting from ground zero who want to get in moderate shape, not for the person seeking lots of mass/strength on the whole. :)

Yeah, like I said, DOGGCRAP. ( I know you probably think I am being a smartass, but that is the name of a guy on these boards who has a seriously effective program... I have no clue why he decided to name himself that )

I tried Body for life for 12 weeks, and the only thing I got out of it was some fat loss. I went nowhere on strength and definitely not size. It was too fast paced IMO. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

It was created to make Bill some more money. Not to create a better body for the people using it.

That's what I've been thinking. He should write a book about how to make lots and lots of money, because he did a very good job at doing said. The way he uses the book to sell the EAS products, and then selling off the EAS company for a ton of cash... just brilliant!

Those myoplex drinks dont sit well with me either. It made my heart beat very irregularly. It would seem there's nothing in them that could cause that, but they really did affect me. Everytime I would quit taking them I'd have no problem, i went back to it 3 times total and 3 times I ended up in the ER.
