Brand New with Lab Results

Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum so if I am missing pertinent information please advise and Ill try to add.
I am 37 years old, 5'11", 215lbs. I eat low carb paleo with lots of healthy fats, get 8-9 hours of sleep a night, and lift heavy compound movements.
For many years now I have felt a lack of energy, no morning wood, and overall stuck on lifts. Here are some numbers from bloodwork:

Testosterone 424 ng/dL Range - 348-1197
Free Test 15. pq/mL Range - 8.7-25.1
TSH 3.830 uIU//ml Range 0.450-4.5
T4 8.8 ug/dL Range 4.5-12
T3 35 % Range 24-39
E2 8 pg/mL Range 3-70
Vit D 63 ng/mL Range 30-100

My thyroid levels are kept in check via a synthroid.

My doctor said he does not prescribe TRT to Test levels above 400 and Free Test above 12. My question is, will this be pretty much the same response regardless of what doctor I see? Would it not be worthwhile to pursue TRT with the levels I have?
Thank you all in advance!

Hello JReinhal,

Most often that is the response from local doctors, it is hard pressed to find doctor's dedicated to this field. At IMT we strive to provide the best care for clients in regards to low t if a clinical need has been established. It is very easy to establish care with IMT, you can email or call me directly and see what options you have available.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Most likely, yes. You are not hypogonadal.

I would recommend that you start getting LH and FSH blood work so that you can monitor it over time. If your TT continues to drop having that baseline will be helpful.

I'm not very knowledgeable about thyroids, but are they trying to get your TSH lower? Being above 3.0 is still considered hypothyroid. You thyroid affects your SHBG and TT levels among other things.

Your E2 is very low. I think that is causing a lot of your symptoms. Most guys here like to be in the 20-30 range. Below that and you feel horrible. In many ways, having low E is worse than having low T. And just so you know, a lot of your estradiol comes from the process of Testosterone aromatizing into estradiol.

Here is some more reading you can do.

Thank you for your response. I have never heard of IMT as this is my first time dabbling into the TRT area. I will send you an email.

Thank you for your excellent response! I should have been more clear, I have hyperthyroid so my levels are increased and kept in check via synthroid.
I will get my E2 checked again. I was verbally recommended DHEA as a supplement to help out in that area.
I believe the frustrating part is I seem to be doing EVERYTHING I can do naturally to increase my testosterone and low 400s is where Ive been for the past couple of years. I imagine it would be much lower if I went onto a "standard lifestyle".
So, would the consensus be that it would be in my best interest to not pursue TRT at this time?
Thanks again. Wonderful site!

P.S. I read the link, thanks!

Most of us on TRT view it as a being a life saver, but we would prefer to not need to be on it. It is expensive. You are married to a needle. The dialing in process can be difficult. Hormones are a tricky business. Many of the guys here have heard me say that TRT guys would trade their left nut to get their Natty T back. :-)

Get you LH and FSH checked and let us know how they look.

Did you doctor recommend DHEA or Pregnenolone?

No sir, no doctor. A member on another board had mentioned DHEA due to the low E2 levels.
I hear and understand what you are saying about the TRT vs natural. Thank you for that perspective.

Make sure you research prohomones and possible side effects before taking them. There is a good prohomone section here at 'Ology.
