Living the dream
I know we all love Oatmeal, but what about Grits or Cream of Wheat. They are both low cal, low fat. but are they good complex carbs?

I wouldn't say either is bad but they are more refined (especially cream of wheat) dont have the fiber that oatmeal has and will spike the blood glucose quicker than oatmeal. more of a simple carb source.

The more fiber the better imo.

I would go with Oatmeal, Cream of wheat & grits are higher in the glycemic index, Which means they raise blood glucose levels quite fast, but if you really like grits or cream of wheat you can have them one in a while.

grits gross me out.....reminds me of a Ronnie Coleman video I watched.....where he eats grits with egg whites with Kraft cheese.....all in the same bowl. Ewww

Take a look at "Red River" cereal if you're looking to change things up.
It's Canadian but I can send you a box if you can't get it.

Red River Cereal is a mixture of three whole grains - wheat, rye, and flax. Nothing is added and nothing is removed. This blend of grains is NATURALLY LOW IN FAT and gives a balance of flavour that no single grain cereal can match.

sounds good I will. I'm really into that Kashi Go Lean crunch, it's really good and good for you.

cream of wheat is a great PWO meal, but i would keep it to that. Oats are far superior for the reasons stated above.
