Cardio while on cutting cycle.

Hi guys,
Just after some different opinions on this... Firstly..

29yrs, male, 180cm, 85kgs, 13.5%

Currently running a really basic cycle and am Just going into week 4.

Test Cyp 500mg 1-12
Anavar 80mg 8-12

At the moment I am trying to drop the body fat to get into single figures % while mainting lean muscle mass at the least.

I have got my diet on point, which was written for me a guy who specialises in body composition and pre contest prep.

I got my metabolism working spot on by running maintenance calories, then slowly getting into a calorie deficit.
At the moment I am in a 10% deficit which isnt that much.
Numbers were always worked out of a recent dexa scan.

2390 cals
215 prot
69 fats
240 carbs

He wants me to do this diet and training program, but NO CARDIO. He thinks cardio is only really used to really get in a deficit pre contest.
The thing is, he DOESNT know I am running test. He is a big believer in natural and I dont want to upset him. Anyway..

Because I AM using some test, will this stop me from burning muscle.
I feel like I should add some cardio to speed up the fat loss.
I have never really been into cardio or done much of it to be honest.

If you think I should add some cardio? How often, how long, and what kind?

Thanks guys.

Absolutely, AAS don't just allow you to build muscle faster, they help prevent muscle breakdown hence they are technically Androgenic/Anabolic/Anti-Catabolic Steroids.

I'd play the cardio by ear. I personally don't do cardio to try and lose weight, I let my diet do the talking.

So if you're in week 4 and not losing any weight then maybe you need to do some cardio to step up your deficit more....or you need to switch up your diet. What ever works for you.

Diet is good, I've come from 15.1 to 13.5 in 5 weeks with diet only. Happy so far. I just want to try and speed it up a little if I can by adding some cardio. Just wasn't sure if it was worth it or not ...

Also, I don't see any mention of an aromatase inhibitor? At that much test your e2 levels WILL be above range which is not ideal when cutting... Look at running either Adex or Aromasin alongside it.

This is correct.
When I did cardio, it actually made me softer. When i'm on cycle my muscles press against the skin giving the impression of being cut/vasular. Cardio made me lose muscle slightly, and my muscles were no longer pressed against the skin. If that makes any sense.

Guess I'm I the minority here but I think cardio is imperative. I understand theoretically if you are at a calorie deficit, you will lose fat and that can be accomplished through dieting but in reality, I've never been able to clip 8 percent body fat without fasted morning cardio... I haven't yet used aas how ever. Cardio, fasted at 125 heart beats per minute for 45 minutes will obliterate fat. For me, I become much more vascular, calves dramatically improve, and the impossible to get belly fat disappears. I also think it improves nutrient absorption and blood flow (total bro science, but that's my observation). If you want to get into lie single digits, I'd strongly suggest it

Not in the minority at all, it's just that some guys can get away with diet alone. Cardio + weight training + proper diet can most certainly provide excellent results. Diet is obviously the most important, but sometimes we have to help that deficit by bringing in cardio.

I loathe cardio with a seething passion, but have found it a necessity. Just remember OP, your weight training will likely suffer a little bit, but the end justifies the means imo.

My .02c :)

What halfwit said^^^^ some peeps can cut up with diet alone. They're usuLly the same ones that lose muscle that took years to build In just a few months of slothfulness. I hold on to my weight( muscle and fat) and have to incorporate cardio to drop fat significantly.

You have to find out what works for you, as we are all different to some degree

Those people are doing it incorrectly then! I imagine genetics come into it but that sounds silly to cut fat and also lose muscle...antithesis to all they've worked for up to that point

Personally I would not hire a nutrition coach who only does natty when I'm on the juice. Why? If you want to maximize your results you need a chemist/nutritionist/training coach
