Whats the difference between eating 4000 calories and burning off 500, and eating 3500 calories without burning anything? Also whats the best time to do it , if your trying to keep muscle?
I found healthy whole foods is the ticket to me staying lean. I could pound my knees for hrs. and never get lean if my diet isn't in tune. People think you gotta run your ass off to get lean that just kills strength which in turn limits muscle gain. What helps me is early morning walks here in the mountains. Just enough to get the blood flow and some oxygen to the brain but no running. If you have access to a pool that is a different story.
So, really people dont have to do cardio, they could just drop there calories and have the exact same results. Results as in how much bf and muscle they lost or kept would be exact?
You are overthinking this too much. Cardio burns calories while you are doing it and also helps maintain healthy cardiovascular function. Weightlifting helps retain lean mass while dieting. You should probably do cardio for the health benefits. Also, it is generally better to create a calorie deficit through exercise (including cardio) than to create a deficit by not eating as much.
