Hey guys I'm 24 male had many jobs did what I always wanted to do which was state trooper and hated it don't know what to do with my life wondering what u guys do or wish u would have done

Wanted to be an engineer, but took a "year off" after high school, which lead to wanting to be a paramedic - tested for many years, and during my most competitive year - got hurt. Went and did IT/IS thinking that would be the ticket, except India can do it much cheaper.

Not I'm back in school 22 years later for that engineering degree. Funny how life can come full circle like that. I guess what matters is that you find a path which is both challenging and rewarding. Otherwise, you'll find yourself looking for a new path again.

Exactly how I feel man I been loading trucks and pays fairly well just mindless work feels like waisting my life don't really want to go to school but prolly gonna have to for something

I was making around 100k a year at 19 years old doing manual labor. It can be FANTASTIC pay, but I'm still paying for it twenty years later. The great thing about being a dock worker is that you'll have time to study during the lulls in between inbound and outbound rushes if you want to go back to school.

Manual labor isn't how you want to earn a living much past your twenties. ESPECIALLY if you're a lumper. ;)

find what you love... do what you love and never work a day in your life

the best thing i ever did was open 3Js Nutrition Network..

i never feel like im at work when i am working with my clients to improve their lives and get in shape.. its a rewarding "job" lol

If you have any talents that were given to you at birth and you enjoy follow that until you that burns out brother.

Main thing is to find something you enjoy. That is hard nowadays though as most things that are enjoyable dont pay the bills

What kind of things do you enjoy?
What are some things your good at?
Any talents? Artist, sports etc etc

Yea everything I love don't get paid for ha-ha hiking traveling motorcycles working out anything outside good at everything I try I just don't have anything that I WANT to do. And damn I wish I made 100000 ha-ha make 45000 and think that's good lol and 3j I just got my diet from ya last week seeing great results so far

What percent of the guys that you worked with were on gear? Is it spoken about openly on the force?

That I know of none of the guys in my county used gear but at the training academy there were quit a few that u could tell did and guys would talk about other guys being on it and how come they weren't in trouble for it

If I could do it all over again- I woulda tried out for the seal teams- 5-10 years max and do what I do now. I always wanted to challenge myself and to me that's the ultimate test and you get to see the world and get paid for it. Do what you love but don't settle for simple cause most people get stuck in a rut doing the simple. Challenge yourself

If i could go back and do it all again......Right after highschool i would have started on the journey to get my medical licence. And with that I would have open up my own TRT clinic.

Yea just so much school and so much u don't need its all just a money racket like my wife is taking dental hygiene but so many stupid classes before she can begin the program its retarded I just don't want to go to school for years for something I'll hate so that's why I'm looking for ideas from everyone hard to do something else after doing what u thought was ur dream job now I'm lost haha

It may be a money racket (it really is), but it's also being used as a filter to keep folks out of jobs. I know guys that are making six figures as technical career persons with degrees in fine arts. Blows my mind that they would get jobs like that, but apparently all HR looks for nowadays is a bachelor's degree or better.

Unless you're enterprising enough and have great fortune and are able to start your own company. More power to you if that is within one's ability, I know I have zero desire to do so. :)

If I could have done things over, I'd have studied harder at the end of highschool and pushed myself. As I didn't, I didn't get the best marks. I had lots of fun during uni (I still did rather well at HS....) but again, not the best marks. As such, I didn't make any grad programs and had to spend more years working my way up whereas others didn't.

As I work in financial markets, degrees aren't everything...trading and dealing that is. But if you want to be management towards the CEO type job, you need more.

What is your degree in? What type of degree do you have?

so you need to choose a path.. if you choose college make sure you choose a path you both enjoy and will make money.. because student loans can be daunting.. (trust me i know, i went to ucla and law school with a near full ride and still owe a pretty big sum in student loans)

your other option is vocational school... Nurse, resp therapist are good paying positions

believer it or not my friend here in town is an elevator tech and makes 100k a year and is in a union! thats pretty damn good too!

Yea I really thought about elevator mechanic would be cool hard to get in to i hear but I like how its really just on the job training
